Contest – Win a 16GB 3G Apple iPhone

Posted by Chris Leckness on Jun 09, 2008

iphone3gWe might be from Windows Mobile roots here, but there are some great things that the iPhone has to offer. Although the 1st Generation iPhone didn’t satisfy my needs, I was able to recommend it to some friends and family.

  • No, I am not jumping on the iPhone bandwagon. I am just helping to celebrate the release of the most leaked Apple announcement ever.
  • Yes, I will buy a 3G iPhone. In fact, I am going to buy two again. One for me and one for you, just like last time. Yep, even though we are heavily focused on Windows Mobile powered phones, we gave away a couple iPhones last year.

Yes, that’s right. We don’t have one in hand, but you will as soon as I do. Well, you will if you win this contest. Read on to find out how!

Updated due to recent findings, contest is still on, but we might have to change the way the prize will be awarded. Details after the break.

Here is the updated info… Based on some info in an internal AT&T email that BGR posted, the contest idea is in jeopardy. Instead of going down to a store, buying the phone, and mailing it to the winner, we might need to do it differently. Details on this will be set as more info comes in.

The new 3G device will be activated in store in both AT&T and Apple stores.  Customers must accept AT&T and Apple Ts & Cs, sign a 2-year agreement, and select the data plan for the iPhone 3G before leaving the store.

I read this as that you have to sign up for AT&T to walk out the door with the phone. If this is the case, it would be difficult to fulfil this contest the way I intended. Let’s continue the contest and see how this works out.

The Prize:

The Rules: The rules are quite simple…

  • Comment on posts here on Mobilitysite. On July 11th, 2008, I will randomly select one winner from comments made on all posts from now until July 11th. Comments that are determined by me to be just fluff comments will not count. I will use my best judgement. The selection of the winner will be done on video.
  • Mobilitysite Staff Members (except me) are eligible as this will be totally random.
  • Winners will be limited to the US Only on this one, sorry guys.
  • The prize is the hardware only. No service will be included. That will be up to you to provide.
  • In the event of the hardware is not available at the time the contest ends, the winner will still be selected and will have to wait for availability. ( I don’t expect this, but just making sure in case there is a shortage)
  • I reserve the right to change the rules to protect the fairness of the contest.

That’s it, Good luck!

This site has the best contests!

I wish that I could get the network service of Verizon with the phone choices of AT&T. Is that too much to ask?

I would buy an iPhone in a heartbeat, but my wife won’t leave Verizon. Sigh. If I were to win one, however…

    ~Diss

  • http://www.mobilitysite.com Chris Leckness

For the record (for me when I choose winner), the 1st eligible comment is #5642.

@diss – Thanks for the compliment. This is a result of 2 things. This site being privately owned and not having to go through corporate red tape and this just being a hobby and not needing the income to support the family. I can reinvest ad revenue into the site to make others happy.

  • Jeremie Lariviere

I agree, wonderful contests. For me, I’m happy with my HTC TyTN II, but as an iPod… Well, I’m waiting for an 80GB+ iPhone / iPod Touch… Then I’d be able to have half of my music collection on my 5.0 gen iPod, and half on the other device ;-).

  • ak56789

I agree, these contests are the best of any site I’ve been on.I have to ask this question to the readers of MobilitySite: If the low-end iPhone is now priced lower than the low-end iPod Touch, shouldn’t the iPod Touch be priced lower than the iPhone?

  • Zealot

Apple pricing is always a somewhat confusing game of balancing new hotness versus existing buzz.

I would not expect to see any iPod prices move, as I think it is VERY important to Apple that the 3G iPhone flies off the shelves even faster then the first. Dropping the prices for the iPod Touch may discourage some people who would buy the iPhone as a cheaper iPod.

  • Neil

Can we say Saaweeeet?!?! Awesome contest man. :)

  • Steven Borders

This is why I like this place. I hope I win.

  • Chris Logan

I agree, another great contest. Winning might even push me over to ATT.

  • appleJohnney

I found it odd that they didn’t announce a 32GB iPod. Especially since they announced that 1)the iPhone would be priced at $199-$399, and 2) the 8GB = $199 and the 16GB = $299. What version is priced at $399? hmmmm.

  • Jerry

I would love to win one of these. Finally, a company other than HTC or Palm has enticed me enough to want to leave WM. :)

  • Matthew Yu

What i found odd was the camera. As soon as the keynote was over, i jetted to apple.com and viewed the tech specs, and it stayed as that 2MP camera with no video recording. However, i am happy that apple has slimmed down the iphone, i’ve found it very large in pockets.

  • kaeru666

This is cool! I really want an iPhone. I wish Apple didn’t sign that contract with At&T for a lockout of five years though. If you look on overseas sights they can buy the iPhone and have just about any provider of service. I would be willing to try to unlock my phone to work with Verizon.

  • Nagrom

I actually would prefer to win a new HTC Touch Diamond but hey winning is winning. Running contests like this is a cool way to focus attention on a site and a device.

I still have a big problem with the Iphone in that you are not able to customize it and put whatever you want on it like a WinMo phone. Until that happens I will never get one. But to each his own.

  • http://www.mobilitysite.com breley

Bless my soul I could use the Enterprise features at work now that the 2.0 OS supports Microsoft Exchange/ActiveSync with Push email/contacts/vCard along with IPSec VPN access. That it can support Microsoft formats, HTML format and global address lists might make it tempting for our sales group. One of the sales execs I work with who has an Axim and is looking to get something with phone capability could easily benefit from something like this.

  • goodguy20k

I see you’re still at it, Chris. Glad to see these contests still make people post pointless comments. ;)

I only just got your RSS fixed up on my reader, so I’ll probably be readin’ more these days (and commenting more)… Good to be back-ish. ;-)

  • Ryan

The first iPhone was intriguing, but did not offer enough to go for it. The new 3G iPhone looks very enticing (new apps, GPS). I really like having internet tethering on my Tilt though.

  • Soo Goh

I would very much like to see how Apple implements exchange on the phone. It would be embarassing if they outdo Microsoft on their own territory!

    Soo

  • Art

Awesome contenst. I can’t wait to get my hands on one of these things. I currently have a Verizon contract coming to an end in September. Just the perfect opportunity to make the switch. I don’t know how Verizon perpetually manages to have some of the worst devices when my contracts are coming due.

  • MIcky

yes i want one bec i never had one like that one!! and i am deaf and very eagle to do this amazing phone !! as simply the best Apple iphone!!!!

give me one please .. an i not mean to you ??thanks

  • Starkenator

If this would have been the phone brought out last year I may have got this instead of the Tilt.

  • NOSaturn

mandantory activation sucks. mobileme is reallllly good idea.

  • srvctec

I’d love to win an iPhone, although I don’t know how well the service and coverage for AT&T is around here.

Thanks for another great contest Chris!!

  • sarah

The whole issue of mandatory data plan/phone plan has me torn. On the one hand, it helps to ensure a great browsing experience on the iPhone — because you MUST have a decent data plan (formerly only possible with a RIM device). On the other hand, I know people who would buy an iPhone over an iPod Touch — except for that mandatory plan.

  • drowe

This might finally get me to get the iPhone. The first generation just didn’t do it for me, but now the bugs are out, the apps should start coming and the hype seems to be a little less….. With the Apple/AT&T restrictions on buying one, I don’t envy your job Chris! Rest assured I’ll do everything I can to make getting the phone to me to be as easy as possible ;-)

    David

  • Linda Pettit

I would love to win an iPhone. I’m still amazed at the new technology available. Thanks for the chance to win!

  • Jonathan

Wow! Another great contest from Mobility Site! The 3G speed is a fantastic upgrade. I don’t know if it is worth the jump to ATT though.

  • ironguy

I too love the contests and have won stuff in the past. Apple and I have a strong Love/Hate relationship. I have been a loooong time WinMobile fan, ever since my brother-in-law showed me his Casio 300. Apple products in general are great. I love my iPod shuffle. Iphones are cool, no doubt about it, but as Chris stated earlier, they still don’t quite fit the bill for me. My daughter loves hers and I still gasp when I see the data usage on the bill even if it’s unlimited. I read a lot on my pocket PC. I have yet to hear of a good reader for the iPhone. 3G would be neat, but living in the Bay Area near Aple and Google, I have to wonder how crowded the 3G airwaves will be. Still, if I won, I would give it a shot. I can’t wait for the third party apps to come out. It may change everything!

  • Heatwave316

I have to say that I was blown away by the iPhone 3G. I am in the market for a new phone, something more on the smartphone side. I think with all the 3rd part apps, I’ll definitely be able to find some programs to help be stay organized. Plus, I LOVE the included GPS. I have been pricing a stand-a-lone GPS, but this would solve all my problems. Plus, I would have the perfect reason to leave Verizon in the dust. :)

Thanks so much for this giveaway!!!

  • http://www.myspace.com/badamc90 brandon

WOW!! i just watched the keynote of the 3G iphone. this contest is awesome. thanx chris.

  • doogald

@appleJohnney – there already is a 32 GB iPod Touch. Or, did you mean that you are surprised that they did not offer a 32 GB iPhone?

Chris, everything I see so far on the 3G says that activation is required at the store at the time of purchase. But, people buy iPods as gifts for people all of the time. There must be a mechanism that will be in place to allow a gift purchase?

  • http://www.casarodante.org Roger

    Just leaving a comment.

  • Dennis Kan

    niceeeeeeeee! :] i definitely want one :P
but its gonna be hard to get it to us

  • Sulsa

I love my tilt, but his rocks!!!

Thanks for the chance to win!!

  • nsnsc03

I hope you can work out the details of actually gettin the iphone to the winner (hopefully me!)

    A hopeful contestant!

  • Pedah

It’s sad that this is limited to the States, when the device is being released in 22 other countries at the same time, why not order the winners from their local provider!?

  • http://www.mobilitysite.com Chris Leckness

Sorry man. You know most of my contests are open worldwide, but this one is too uncertain that I figured it was easier to deal with logistics in the US.

  • Luis Moral

    I don’t want an iPhone.

It looks really nice and I think it’s revolutionary (specially when it first appeared) but…

    …but it’s like a cult, and I don’t like sects.

And it is not because of the devotion many have for it (probably well deserved) but because once you are in you cannot get out, and I don’t like that. Apple and AT&T (the US big cellphone carriers in general) just want to suck your blood.

    I like freedom.

And I hope they let you finish with this contest successfully.

    Thanks and congrats.

  • Tom Williamson

Can I use an iPhone to control my Axim? (just kidding, sold that quite some time ago, but those kickin’ it old school will get the joke)

Chris, you’ve always lived on the bleeding edge and kept us all up to date with all the shiny, LED illuminated and expensive gadgets we do so love. Me and my disposable income thank you.

  • Chuck Wade

This would be a great win to finally cut off my landline.

  • Gary H

The 3G is what I’ve been waiting for. If I odn’t win one, I’ll be buying one soon.

  • Jacob LaFountaine

I always wanted to try an iPhone

  • joseph

finally, i am going to leave my SERO plan to get the 3G iphone… it’s been a long wait, but finally it has come!

  • Drew

As an alternative if you can’t buy the phone and ship it to someone, maybe you could have it be a “rebate”? Have the winner buy it and send you the receipt, then reimburse them?

  • Kevin W

The iPhone isn’t perfect but then again there are faults with every Smart Phone known to man.

I have the original phone and I use it to surf the internet a lot. For this use it is unmatched. I also am a road warrior ( Traveling Salesman) and the new phone will be a God send for me because it will be able to be used as both my personal phone and a company phone. Winning this phone would let me hand my company issued POS back and only carry one phone. The new Phone Book search will be handy too.

  • soaringMoe

Great site and a great contest!

  • Dan Vitous

I am SO not a ‘trendy phone guy’… didn’t bite the first time… but a guy at work was showing his off… and well… :P

Although the shine did dull a bit with the increased service fees – it’ll cost you more than the old device + price structure over the term of the contract.

But… My Axim X5 is getting a tad long in the tooth. I was able to use it on my last motorcycle trip… but only where there was wifi available.

    Time to get hip!

    - Dan

  • Rishad

Great contest Chris! I should move to the US.. :/

  • Joshua

    Yes.. pls select me ;-)

  • Peter D.(pdogg6@mobilitysite)
The selection of the winner will be done on video.
OMG OMG who else does this statement scare?….I’m camera shy and will probably embarrass myself. Can the prize be revoked on video if your to goofy? :P.

Yet another great contest! Thanks for the opportunity.

    -p

  • ben

I’m sold on the 3g icandy… however what I’m really banking on is good gps software. If they can make a garmin equivalent then I’m all over it. I’ll even ignore the fact that the new 3g is more expensive than the 1st (over 2 yrs)

  • Galina

Another nice contest! I wish good luck everyone – to win this phone. Actually it is silly – everyone cannot win, only one lucky one. He-he. Please don’t bother to select me, I am not from US anyway and I already won nice smartphone (BlackJack) here. Love it very much. Even sold my 2 pocket pcs, so now I have only 2 plus smartphone.

  • http://www.briantate.blogspot.com Brian Tate

I agree, this is a GREAT contest. not only does the winner pay EVEN LESS for the already cheaper phone, but they get all the added features to boot! a bragging point for me has always been that my tilt can match the iphone in ability… and even SURPASS it in most, but the new version of the apple software and the boosted speeds and whatnot add a lil something to the iphone “pro” list. has anyone given any real thought to this? for someone with normal pda function, this is a step up… but for me… in some eays it’s a step back isn’t it? no calendar add ons yet, not enough third party apps available yet, I use spb finance to keep track of expenses…. iphone has an expensive quicken plan…. it just seems like upgrading from a loaded bmw into a basic model benz…. it’s a lil flashier with a little less tricks. the iphone is a pretty device…. and that’s the main selling point for me. i’d probably still keep a wimo pda around for the busines stuff.

  • http://www.themkcorporation.com SirOcelot

I have talked to a Verizon rep who said it is possible to get the iPhone on a Verizon service plan. At first I didn’t believe him (who the hell would), but I talked to his supervisor and he said that if you found away to unlock the phone, they could add the SiM card to a “World Phone Plan” and those start out at around $120/mo. I will have to go back to my store and get a hold of a “World Phone” so I can show you that Verizon DOES sell SiM Card phones.

  • Tom Buehrer

OK, I’ll agree will all. Great contest. I’d really like to see how the iPhone stacks up against my HTC TyTnII. iPhone superiority is not a foregone conclusion.

  • Raphael Salgado

I’m surprised at after 54 entries, no one has mentioned… How about a gift certificate of $300 at an AT&T store? It’s just as good as winning a 3G iPhone.. Like, what else would you purchase for $300 at an AT&T store… A BlackBerry Curve?! Puh-leez.

  • Avi K

    the iPhone is Cool!

  • Chris

Discrimination!! I’ve been hanging for the new iPhone 3G, but it is not yet available in Australia, and this contest is for US members only.

  • TheIpaqUser

I’d love to win an iPhone, although I would have to switch services, but thats fine.

  • anderson

You guys are awesome! iPhone 3G rocks!!!

  • ahmed

    WHEN GOD GIVE ME Iphone….

  • Peter

Since I have AT&T, I had to choose between the Tilt or iPhone to fulfill my PDA needs. And since I couldn’t afford the iPhone, that made my choice a lot easier haha. It would be so sweet if I could win one of these :D

  • tanis

The idea is good, but will this contest be available for people from outside the US? And of course that whole story of having to pick an AT&T plan before being able to walk out the door with the iPhone screws completely up us foreigners.

  • Marty

iPhone you, iPhone me, we all want the iPhone for free
If you think, you can win, then come lets have a fight,
at the Contest 3G iPhone Mobility Site!

The AT&T contract sux, to use the iphone, I have to pay more bucks.
But I dont care, as the community is aware, There will be a team to by-pass this, somewhere.

    well hopefully…

  • Larry Aubin

    Really great offer..

The new iPhone almost finishes what the first release started!

Keep up the great work on the site etc..

Appreciate you work and efforts and the contests are just like dessert!

    Thanks…

  • tk369

    hey, all..
if i win this iphone, i’ll lather up and shave with my razr!

  • WatUpWog

I love gadgets. I want this one too. But i promise to use it and not just let it collect dust like my iPAQ 312 travel companion. ;o).

    p.s. great competition too.

  • Carlos Padron

    Love to win the iphone

  • maxfusion16

how about just give out an apple giftcard of equivalent value? the winner can just go to the store and sign up themselves.

  • fmieske

I tried the first iPhone and just didn’t keep it.. Biggest thing for me was lack of gps. (don’t have 3G in my area yet) So I went back to my old phone, but really miss web browsing on the iPhone.. It was great to have a nice big screen and a browser that would show the normal/full web page. I already have At&t so I don’t have to switch services if I were to win this phone.
    Thanks

  • Tom D

I’ve been watching the iPhone since initial release and now that the 3G is out with Exchange support it is definitely becoming more and more attractive. However, I’m not sure I could give up the slide out keyboard of my Mogul. The iPhone is great for receiving (i.e. reading) email but trying to send back a response is painful with no keyboard. Maybe Apple could come up with some solid voice recognition for email replies…. Then I would jump all over it. I still wouldn’t mind having one just because its so easy to surf the web, listen to music, and *read* email. :)

  • appleJohnney

If the iPhone does need to be activated by the winner, then you could have it so the winner gets the cash equivalent of the 1Phone so they can go to their local AT&T or Apple store to buy and activate the phone.

  • McGyver45

This tech geek wishes she could afford an iPhone. A very cool and versatile piece of equipment. I am still making due with my Nokia TracPhone, generic MP3 player and Dell Axim X5 with WinMobile and an infrared modem. All in all they still serve my needs : )

  • evilbento

wow, this is awesome, I have been really wanting to get the 3g iphone, especially now that it’s got a GPS, it will help my daily life greatly! But I wander how everything is going to work out…since they haven’t announce the price for people who aren’t ready for an upgrade yet…but I hope everything works out in the end! ^___^

  • Perrin

I believe from what I’ve seen at Engadget and other places like TWITLive, they said that the iphone has to be activated within 30 days. Not sure if that helps you or not, but I want one badly!

  • strikeone

great contest Chris – I’d definitaly like to see how the iPhone compares with my Tilt!

  • Jason adams

This site rocks. Can I have an phone please. Windows mobile still rules..

  • samuil hnaa

wow, nice contest, although apple didn’t introduce many new features in 3G phone but i would like to have one too that will be a nice combination with my x51V :D

  • John

After reading the RED, this will be an interesting contest.

Nice to see that your active again.

    JT

  • Jeffry

So does anyone know if the new iphone will handle third party aps? I think it would be a great phone if i can add programs to it… eh just a thought

  • Larry W.

I refuse to beg for this phone. Not me, not ever. You won’t find me pandering to get this. I would never stoop so low as to comment on how wonderful this site is. I would never waste your time to talk about how smart you are. Why I would not even think to make some comment on how well you dress or what a great person you are. I won’t even mention what a blessing you are to humanity. I alone refuse to grovel for this iPhone.

  • bob

Hope it all works out, I’m quite interested in the iPhone…

  • alen

I have never used iphone. I saw there were some complaints about its quality as a phone. I wonder if there’s any improvement for the new version iphone 3G. I wonder if there’s any sip client pre-installed in the new iphone, like skype or other sip softphone. If so, it’ll be great.

  • aardWolf

Due to what will likely the the limited availability of the new iPhone (because of the price, mostly), you might consider just sending a $200 gift certificate to the Apple store so the winner can pick up his/her own iPhone.

  • chigirl34

I’d love to win the iPhone. Hope this turns out!

  • Maxi

I’m really interested in have one device to carry around and keep charged. I always have a phone (RAZ V3), a Dell Axim and my Ipod (5th gen – 30g. All in one would be fabulous – I hope the new iphone lives up to it’s hype.

    Love the contest!!!

  • chigirl34

Very cool — looking forward to July 11th!

  • Maxi

  • heyk

I hope to see more of these contests, would like to have one of apple magic phones. keep going like this and with this verry usefull site.

    greetz.

  • http://www.bradycole.com Brady

WOW Great contest, I’d gladly trade in my treo on an iphone especially the 3G model, as much as I’m an WM6 fan I think the iphone has really raised the bar on mobile devices.

    –Brady

  • Jeff Greenwald

Just got your email after not visiting the site in a while…Glad I came back….Great site, greaT CONTESTs….I’ve booked marked you and will be back daily…

Would also love to win the IPhone eventhough I too love my tilt…

  • reggieK

I too wish that AT&T would upgrade their service and especially their customer service. I have spoken several times to Bombay regarding tech issues and it is tiring going through their scripts. I don’t need to hear about resets and such…give me credit for some brains…sheesh. But an I phone is certainly a very nice piece of hardware.

  • Terry Beisiegel

After reading that you put the revenue from this site back into the community that helped you build it, you deserve all the respect you get. This kind of stuff is awesome. :]

  • http://www.gotzune.com Soccerfreak24

Being a long time zune lover, I find it hard to even consider the iphone 3g, but after looking at the specs, and features, it’s a respectable phone. If it wasn’t limited to AT&T, it’d be a much better phone imo.

I’d love a shot at this phone, and GL to everyone else.

  • Gale

I would love to win an Iphone. My old Nokie 63– Is about ready to be ut in the recycle bin. The only reason why I have not given in to a phone is $$ I have been an AT&T client for 4 years and still have my first phone. Thanks for entering me into the contest

    Gale

  • Mike

Still the best place since the beginnging of Aximsite. An iPhone would be great with my AT&T service

  • Colleen

For free a i-phone, I’ll switch to ATT

  • http://n/a Matt Strohbehn

Cool, I can talk about the contest and enter it at the same time! I wasn’t planning on buying the iPhone due to the expense (yes, even at the reduced price), but I do like them. Count me in.

  • Roosterman

Free is nice and I really appreciate the contest. But the thing that has me excited about the iPhone is that there are 10,000 golf course that have been designed for it! Now we’re talking.

  • Jared

My Tilt has become somewhat dissapointing, i think it may be time for a change.

  • FrinkTL

My phone is very old and beat up…and all it can do is make phone calls (that actually sounds funny when you say it like that). I’ve seen the screen on these things and they’re pretty awesome.

BTW, free is my favorite pricetag.

  • http://www.h3systems.com Don Hartung

    Wow,
I have lurked on aximsite for years as I moved from my Axim to my PDA cellphone. I am glad so see it back and running.

I am back in the market for a new device and look forward to the reviews and comments from the community and staff!

  • Michael

No turn-by-turn native GPS software is fine with me..such software is nice but ofter priced at a premium and I would rather have a choice of software: TomTom. I do wish they would get over the “white headphones wires” and add A2DP + additional profiles and even allow it to act as a BT GPS dongle (that might be asking too much). Also, ATT/Apple should allow 3G iphone users to access ATT’s mobile TV and Video services. Anyways, would love to have a free 3G iPhone.

  • Joe

Very nice offer guys, would be estatic to win this :)

  • http://www.myhushspace Rolando

wow, what a great contest. but i need a new phone like i need a whole in my head, lol.

i originally didn’t consider the iphone, but i saw that it has a microsoft exchange function for push/pull email, they kinda changed my mind.

    good luck everyone!

  • http://amazingrcvideos.blogspot.com Kenta

Wow, this site has some of the best contests. That’s why I still subscribe to the e-mails even after going back to a normal cell phone. This iPhone would definitely change me back. It’s one of the best examples of advanced techonolgy for the consumer so I’m really interested in it!

  • deemota

I would love to give an iPhone a try as my day to day device to see how it compares to Windows Mobile.

  • http://www.myworldofhandhelds.com Eric

I really think it stinks that you need to sign a 2 year contract to get this phone (of course I mean this in a general sense, realizing that it has nothing to do with this contest). I was really excited about the iPhone SDK, because as an at home after work developer I’m eager to learn the new platforms and maybe develop some useful apps for myself and others. Unfortunately, it looks like I won’t be able to do that with the iPhone if I need to carry a service to have the phone. Of course, this could be just the thing to get me away from my cheap-o phone with the “pay as you go” plan.

I would purchase an iPhone but they don’t work for Verizon. If only there was a way around that.

I’d like to have an iPhone but $30.00 a month internet access fee? SHEESH! My DSL is cheaper.

I’ve used this website several times while I was a PDA-user and have asked Chris several inquiries as I was wanting a gadget that is a combination PDA-phone. For several years, I could not partways with my PDA, so I’ve asked several cell phone companies to develop a PDA-phone and I’ve waited too long. Finally, my PDA died a sudden death so, I bought a smartphone for which I’m very happy and lucky to have a great carrier. The thing that upsets me is that I cannot use the phone too long as the battery drains out so much for the things I use it for.

Hopefully, if this iphone has the juice that could run longer, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. I recommend this website for any user and I hope that this website gets updated as often as well. You are still in my bookmark. So, goodluck to me!!!

Hi Chris and everyone else here on the site, it is sure great to be back, thanks for the email updates and I am looking forward for more to come!

Very nice of you to consider your visitors on this contest, thanks and good luck to all!

So I have been a long time Verizon customer, and after numerous frustrating incidents with the RAZR I decided to drop my service and join ATT, mainly for the iPhone. I have been enjoying it and am very excited for the launch of the 3G. I am considering upgrading, especially if I win the contest! thanks again!!

    Nice contest…iPhone 3G

    I WANT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t own a cell phone yet, but the iphone does sound interesting. A friend let me try his out and the interface was soothing, but as a medical professional I’m waiting until installable applications like Epocrates come out so I can conserve battery power and not rely on wireless connections alone. I also hear StyleTap has an iphone version in the works, which would open up many useful Palm medical applications.

  • Paulina

I would love to win the iPhone 3g. If you saw my current phone, you’d die laughing…or crying, like I do every time I use it. ;)

  • http://www.tsudonymn.com tsudonymn

Wow I must admit you guys really go all out. I heard about the planet outage that was crazy!

I’m usually more of an HTC fan myself but I totally wouldn’t argue with a free 3G iPhone so here’s hoping!

    Keep up the good work!

  • Bob

If Marianne does not win, I sure hope that I do.

    Thanks for the chance

I am a HTC Tilt owner and I love the phone, but I really would like to have an iPhone. I have had hearing problems all my life with several surgeries to try to correct it. Because of that, I never really enjoyed music until a friend made me listen to his iPod. Well, I was hooked and I recently purchased a used iPod to put music on. I carry it everywhere and I love being able to put movies on it. I know my tilt does this as well, but space is limited.
One of the best things about my Tilt is being able to hook it up to my laptop for when I am out of range of my wifi, but I understand the iPhone 3G does not allow this. Is this correct?
I would love to have the convenience of both phone and iPod in one and I was waiting on the 3G version.

  • Dave1313

I have been staring at the iphone ever since it came out, but could never afford it. If they only put it on Verizon service then it would great. Currently running xv6700 thats falling apart and would love this upgrade. Thanks to you guys for running these contests and I hope the winner actually puts it to good use (not ebay).

My purse is too heavy these days with my Axim, iPod, cellphone and other assorted necessities. The iPhone is in my future!

  • Radimus

I wouldn’t mind an iPhone… if for no other reason than to seperate fact from fantasy.

and I could extort all kinds of concessions from my kids when i’d regift it… :-)

  • VICTOR

man, awesome contest. I wish I can win the ipohne so that i can replace the crappy samsung phone that I have got.

  • http://www.winterscrossing.com Kyladog

I could really use this when I am out doing chores in the pastures. Mucking stalls, fixing fence lines and playing with all the critters! It would sure add a lot to the enjoyment of my day… What if I would get hurt and not be able to get inside to make a phone call? Sure could save my life!

  • http://GearDiary Christopher Spera

As always, Chris, you never cease to amaze me. This is an awesome contest! I am also glad the the MSM is back. Its been away too long, and I will need to resubscribe, as I thought you had kinda canned the idea. Glad I was wrong!

  • Gomcoite

i seriously hope i win this. i missed out on the earlier contest….

  • Gomcoite

one more thing, i heard that the new ipod has a plastic body, is that true

  • matt pierce

I’ve been reviewing an Iphone for work. The crippling of the Bluetooth stack is heart breaking. Why have the hardware and just disable all that handy usability stuff? The interface is pretty slick. There are a few gotchas, and haptic response would really help, especially when trying to work the device without looking at it. The 3G radio may or may not make a difference, we’ll just have to see. My N75 is in the shop right now so I’m not sure if I’ll be needing a new phone but here is mud in your eye.

  • soda97

I really wonder if they can exchange my refurbished iPhone for free when I just purchased recently…

Wow, I just stumbled upon this site and I’m really liking the posts. I didn’t necessarily jump on the bandwagon right away. I thought I’d wait for the right time to even consider an iPhone, and now seems perfect! I don’t have one yet, but to win the iPhone 3G would be amazing! Being a college student and all, a $299 phone would be quite the purchase. I hope I am considered, the new iPhone would be the best gadget I could own!

I am really amped about getting an iPhone but I am NOT, I repeat, NOT amped about the service plans that AT&T is offering with the iPhones.

I use the internet a lot so I must have the unlimited data plan. But guess what? The unlimited data plan doesn’t include text messaging. To get text messaging, you have to pay an additional $20 a month. A package with 1300 minutes, unlimited data and unlimited text messaging with run over $150. That same plan on Sprint is only $99. AT&T needs to rework their iPhone plans since Sprint now has the Instinct – an iPhone killer.

  • Andy Dai

I hope i will win because I’ve never had a iPhone before and this would be great if i won it. Great contest!!! I HOPE I WIN =)

  • http://www.mobilitysite.com breley

This shouldn’t count as an additional entry, but with the activation bug now would be the time to buy one, Chris. :)
