Sometimes you have a simple question while you are out and about and it can’t wait. You need an answer. Ok, so maybe it CAN wait, but why not have someone answer it for you anyway?

Mosio is a mobile community enabling you to text any question from your phone and have it answered by real people (other Mosio members).
You can ask Mosio anything.

How does it work?

Mosio works on a simple give and take principle:

You invite people to your Qniverse (question universe)
When you’re mobile and they’re online, they help answer your questions.
When you’re online and they’re mobile, you help answer theirs.

And best of all, your questions answered by real people.  And BTW, Mosio works with Twitter. (See how to access Twitter here)

  • Mosio's pretty cool. They're challenging the whole idea of "search" as it exists today. Not every question needs an instantaneous response, but, on the phone, the users' effort will be low and the need for a crisp answer straight away high.

At Zook (http://zook.in) we're focusing on the next idea in mobile search along similar lines. Of course, we do not look at this as a search OR a Q&A issue - but from the user's point of view. If there's a question, there should be an answer. If its been mined or if available through best-of-breed sources, its served up as an answer right away. If not, we figure out whom to ask, and sooner than later there's a very relevant answer. [ Zook is available to mobile users in India, at this point. ]

How will mobile search pan out overall ? Yet to be seen, but we're betting that the usual ports of web search + some shortcuts is unlikely to be the answer that users are looking for. Mosio's definitely on to a good thing.
