Now I wish I had gone to New York this week. It seems HTC was in the house and in typical HTC Style, there were some meetings with the guys to show off what is coming soon. Tons of my fellow Mobians got some hands on time with the HTC Touch Pro, the device I am salivating over.

Is it just me or does the Phone Scoop photo (Bottom left) look kind of like the Generation 1 Zune a tad? Anyhow, some of them said that it’s a tad thick, but when you are used to carrying the Tilt, I am sure its ok.

Where in NY was this? I could have been there.. It sure looks big, though. If it will be as big as or as heavy as tilt, what's the purpose of getting this? SE might be a better choice if it has smooth transition from Landscape to Portrait. It just makes it looks weak against fancy transition of iPhone.

This looks good, but I'm still strongly favoring the Xperia right now for one reason... 3.5mm audio jack. Not sure why HTC thinks making you use an adapter for your headphones is a good idea.

Oh, and I just noticed the Touch Pro doesn't run on 850 MHz! So not really an option for those in the U.S.

I'm also hoping Sony-Ericsson picks up where HTC drops the ball in areas of quality and usability (b/c HTC makes the Xperia).
  • after playing with a Diamond today (with latest ROM) i wasn't as impressed as I wanted to be. Sure it feels nice in the hand but the software was laggy - even with the uprated processor. hopefully they'll do a better job working our drivers than they did with the TyTN II (and release them!)
I hope the Touch Pro has improved.
I'm actually hoping for a cross between the Diamond and the T-Mo Shadow - a T20 slide-down keypad rather than the full qwerty... I don't like having to rotate my phone to do stuff...
Personal preference I know, but it's the logical third version....

I like this device too. I am not though onne of the early adopters, mostly because finances won't allow it and honestly neither would my wife. I just ordered a refurb tilt from at&t; but maybe one day. Thanks for posting.
