I've been using the i780 (aka Mirage) for a while now (sadly an EU spec device so no 3G here in the US) and it's a really nice phone.
It's got most of the good features of the BJ-II (but with the addition of WiFi) and a touch screen which works really well in this format.
The D-Pad has been replaced by a weird touchpad which I don't find as usable but it's a personal thing I guess.
Specs on the phone are good - it's powerful enough to feel responsive, yet the battery lasts long enough to be usable.
I agree it's bad that it takes so long for devices to get to the US... gotta wonder what the delay is - carriers, FCC, lack of demand?

so, a year ago, i was excited to get this phone. but that was a year ago. samsung is just about to release the i900 omnia, which is a far more powerful device, and now at&t offer this year old device.

is the moral of the story that while at&t is in deep with apple and the iphone way fewer hot new winmo devices will be released under the blue globe logo?

i'dlike to be offered newly released winmo devices, not american versions of devices released elsewhere a year ago.
