A few days ago I commented about the Celio Redfly adding support for BlackBerrys. I came across that bit of information first while researching to purchase a Celio RedFly myself and then while I’ve been …

New Version of HardSPL bootloader released

So over on xda-developers, jocky has posted a new version of his HardSPL bootloader that allows the flashing of cooked roms.  This new release is designed for use with WM 6.1 based roms and fixes the issues with screen freezes that a lot of folks have been experiencing with the newer cooked roms.

I’ve just updated and so far no issues, I’m thinking of trying the latest cooked rom from Laurentis and see how well it performs on my tilt.  I will try and post a review of this new rom if I get a chance.

I currently have the HTC 6.1 ROM on my Tilt. At first I had it with the old HARDSPL and performance was not great. I had no problems, but it was noticably slower at most things vs. the other ROMS I have tried. I put the new HARDSPL on this past Friday and it is a world of difference. It is way faster and the radios seem to be working much better too. For example, I never got so much as a blip of a satellite inside my house. I tested it on both Saturday and Sunday, and I locked on 4 or 5 satellites inside my house.
  • I have not run into any issues yet, I've actually been experimenting with a couple of different roms. I actually read that with the new SPL the abandoned dutty rom is now working properly so I just flashed it this morning and see what happens. I use my phone a bit, mostly because I'm developing on it currently so I tend to put it through its paces.

there really is no best ROM for everyone. I would suggest trying all of them, and I'm a total newb, but the process is SO simple now.

For now, I'm using Hyperdragon III, but I'm having some problems with the radio, so I might flash a new radio.
  • Yeah I was flashing like crazy on my MPx220, now im scarred to. But I want to do it again, so im hunting for the best cooked rom out now

Flashed the v3.29 onto my Tilt which had dutty's 4/29 ROM. Worked like a charm. Directions didn't follow quite exactly, but got the bootloader installed no sweat. Haven't flashed a new ROM yet, but since I flashed dutty's WM6.1 ROM without a problem from a factory AT&T Tilt, should have NO problem now.

i just did the exact same thing with my tilt, love it, almost better than dutty's, can't wait to see them port over the manilla interface for qvga devices like mine

    Chris,

If you are able to flash this to your Tilt, let us know hot things go. I'd like to do this as well, but am new to the Tilt and haven't really used a cook ROM in about 3 years (Blue Angel was the last time I really used a cooked ROM), and am a bit leary of bricking my Tilt, esp. when you have to install a new boot loader.

    I'd appreciate hearing from you...
