Video reviews are great... I'd much rather see it in action than read about it and use my imagination.

And I totally agree... "If it ain't broke, don't try and fix it." The way I have my Tilt set up now works for me, and I don't want to risk ruining that. Could some things work better? Yes, and that's where some great 3rd party apps come in. SPB Mobile Shell, Resco Explorer, Google Maps are a few that come to mind.

To me, software reviews are too often unbiased. I'd love to see reviews that say, "Here's one I strongly recommend. Trust me and download it" or "Here's an awesome game that works great on the Tilt. Go ahead and buy it, you won't be disappointed."

Also, a thorough review of the new Resco Explorer 2008, is one that comes to mind as an example of a great program people should know about (especially now that it's finger-friendly).

If I had more time, I'd love to join the team and do some reviews myself. Right now it's just not in the cards. But it looks like you've got some very qualified and talented people on board... so keep up the great work!
  • I'm with you, I'm not into flashing ROMs etc. The only thing I did was the hard/soft reset to get rid of the ATT bloatware, and I've got other stuff installed of course, but no ROMs or anything like that, I figure if it ain't broke then don't bother with it... as for reviews, yeah more would be nice, I've got some video related reviews coming up but probably not what you might be interested in from your post..

To echo everyone else, you all do excellent work on Tiltsite... it has become even better recently with the addition of all the new writers.

I, for one, rely on my Tilt heavily for work (phone, emails, contacts, tasks, notes, and documents). I also use it for personal and entertainment purposes (texting, internet, local searches, and games). Anyway, I really don't have time for reading about, downloading, and trying out new ROMs, nor do I want to take any risks with my data or the performance of my Tilt.

It seems everyone wants more cooked ROM coverage, so I thought I'd give the opinion of someone who doesn't. What I'd like to see more of are in-depth software reviews. There are a LOT of 3rd party programs out there... some are great (and work well on the Tilt), others are crap. What is helpful is when a site like this can help "cut through the crap" and give thorough reviews of software that can really help us make the most of our devices.

    Just my $.02.

    Keep up the great work!

A gem of a site for all tilt/tytn ii/kaiser owners. Was driven here ever since the HTC video driver controversy, and have found excellent articles and status updates that kept me from wanting to swap out for something faster. Could you review more of the peripherals and accessories that the phone has? For example, the 1600mAh batteries are they worth the buy over the stock 1300mAh? How to stick that plastic screen protector down properly? How about a top 10 tricks for the tilt/tytn ii? (My fave being the camera refresh speed up trick) Fastest cooked roms (graphics results from spb benchmark is the best)? More updates on that OpenGL ES video driver? Oh, and the download mirror for HTC's official Tilt/Tytn II's video driver .CAB file! >_<

In general, I'm finding this site to be a great jumping-off point for doing some of the advanced tweaking/hacks. I'd like to see more tutorials or guides for squeezing out the most performance out of our device. The XDA forums are an invaluable treasure trove of info, but can be intimidating (sometimes downright difficult) to find exactly what you want, without getting flamed. How about a round-up of the most stable ROM/radio combos specific to the Tilt? This could be a regular feature, given the rate ROMs are released.

More ROM release news and software release/updates!

I have been following this site since day one from Chris Leckness's first Youtube review of the Tilt. I get the most out of the video tutorials like Tyler's. I think at this point, most of your readers are ready to take that next leap with their device, so a narrower focus on tweaking and customizing the Tilt would be a welcome addition. Namely, new cooked ROM reviews (even if only in text form) would be great. Also, please continue to keep us up to date on the HTC driver issue as you guys have done such a good job with in the past.

    Thanks for all you do.

I'd like to see more software reviews, both free and paid. These may or may not be tilt specific...
  • Regedit is a registry editor like you have in Windows
Pocket Rar is the mobile version of Winrar, like Winzip but only better

First of all i wanna say thanks for all your help with teaching me things i didnt know about my tilt. I have duttys rom working great thanks to you. I do have questions thou about what some of the applications that are on the rom. For instance under utilities what is blackbars, regedit, and pocket rar all do. And under system tools whats all those tests do. Are any of them of any use? Also i had skyfire on my previous rom, its still on my sd card and i can get it to work thru my file explorer but how can i get on my device and get it under the programs. Thank for the help in advance

I dig this site. I'm always learning another way or thing to do with my Tilt, so it's at the top of my Rss feed. I guess I'd like more tutorials (video), like the last ROM one. Sometimes it not's really necessary, but often hearing about something and seeing that one little step that someone thought would be obvious, really can help. And comparisons are really useful. Some---like bluetooth headsets, say---things work better on specific devices or have better daily-use life. It helps to hear how others have faired with their accessories. Oh Hell, just keep doing what you do.....
