A few days ago I commented about the Celio Redfly adding support for BlackBerrys. I came across that bit of information first while researching to purchase a Celio RedFly myself and then while I’ve been …

tiltII Okay, so you read my last post on the HTC Touch Pro/Raphael coming to Sprint (CDMA) and were scratching your head at AT&T Right? Well, if you like rumors, Several Blogs are posting on the 2008 AT&T Roadmap at is pointing to a July 6.1 Windows Mobile Update for us Tilt owners along with something else very interesting. According to Gear Diary and BGR (The Boy Genius) We can expect to see a Tilt II (tentatively named for now) in the Q4 2008! This from Gear Diary:

AT&T Tilt 2 due Q4 – Specs below:

Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Edition
Tri-band HSDPA (3.6); Quad-band EDGE
Qualcomm 528 MHz processor
256MB ROM/ 128MB RAM
3.0 MP camera
WiFi; Bluetooth 2.0
PTT; AGPS
VSC (at launch)

AT&T Tilt 6.1 upgrade due in July

Specs look familiar? Can you say Touch Pro? The 528 MHz processor definitely indicates a strong probability for VGA Screen! The Rumor Killer here is that the Touch Pro is NOT a Tilt Screen like our beloved 8925/TyTN II. (aka Tilt). So should we be hopeful?

I know Patrick beat me to it, but I had to edit in an AT&T Logo for giggles!

The only thing I can think of is the X1 is said to come out in September where as the TiltII is coming out in Q4 which means October at the earliest... so perhaps the TiltII is going to be the Touch Pro.

Tilt was cool, but this device LOOKS awesome, especially the all black faceplate.

Couldn' care less about the lack of "tilt" as I could barely hit the two soft buttons on the keyboard with it tilted anyway.

Under contract until October 2010, so I will have to wait until the TILT III is out or the TILT II actually descends to a HUMAN price!
  • Well, I hit up ATT contact about this Tilt2 and was told, and I quote: "We cannot comment on devices we may or may not offer to our customers in the future"
  • i think i'm gonna puke... i think you're right eric... the xperia has a slight "tilt" with the keyboard exposed.....
  • Eric
The specs also could be for the Xperia. The RAM/ROM listed here is much different than the announced RAM/ROM for the Touch Pro.
  • front facing camera? nice..... but wouldn't the person RECIEVING the call need video capabilities on the phone as well? i could see this being used in IM apps... but i don't know of any that support a camera on a wimo device... *shrug*

i AM relieved to see that it's possible that the touch pro is comin to AT&T
  • VSC is short for Video Share Calling, this is an indicator that AT&T; may be going to introduce (FINALLY!) a front facing camera!

The Touch Pro has 512 ROM and 288 RAM doesn't it? Isn't that double the memory? Is the American version going to be different?
  • I think it's Vertical Service Code. (Not 100% sure)

Can someone finally tell us what VSC is?
  • Ben Hanchett
Ok, and we should be excited for this why? Where is the Diamond? That is the talk of the cellphone world. Please list some other features because those features aren't that impressive to me. VSC? please explain. I looked at the HTC Touch Pro on Engadget. That phone is way better than this one.
  • I really like the Tilt Function and hope they include it. I am not sure they got the mileage out of it though. It does create a more moving parts, cost and failure liability.
  • Ok, but how can they call it the 'tilt II' if it doesn't 'tilt' that doesn't make any sense, unless a special version of the Touch Pro is coming out that does tilt, like htey did with teh Tytnii
  • Reeeeeeeeeeefresh! I caught that after I posted it!
  • Ryan? haha that was me....
I wish we could get them for free :-)
