image Following up on Doug’s post, I’ve got a bit of good news from the AT&T front. According to a leaked AT&T roadmap, they plan a few releases by the end of the year.

  • AT&T Tilt 6.1 firmware update coming in July 2008.
  • AT&T Tilt "II" device to be released in Q4 2008.
  • Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Edition
  • Tri-band HSDPA (3.6); Quad-band EDGE
  • Qualcomm 528 MHz processor
  • 256MB ROM/ 128MB RAM
  • 3.0 MP camera
  • WiFi; Bluetooth 2.0
  • PTT; AGPS
  • VSC (at launch)

They’re also releasing some new Windows Mobile 6.1 devices as well as new Motorola, Pantech and Blackberry phones. So looks like the future isn’t so grim, Doug!

    Guess the update is not coming in July 2008. Then again, I was wondering whether it was officially announced by ATT or not. Based on the source referred to in the original post, it does not seem to be official. There maybe other places where it was officially announced for July, I don't recall.

    okay so I'm planning on getting a Tilt next week, but with this newly developed information should I just wait on the TILT II?

  • VSC is short for Video Share Calling. This is an indicator that AT&T; will Finally introduce a front facing VGA camera!!!

    This is the first I heard of it too. I will have to go back and harass my AT&T; Source. LOL

    I think HTC is coming along with the Drivers because of the second ROM release for the Diamond. From BGR it appears that the Diamond actually performs better. I think the 528 processor is more for the VGA screen than to cover up the missing 2G driver issues they have.

    tilt II huh? haven't seen that rumor before. any other information?

    I just hope htc delivers the dream asap. the tilt is nice and all, but im not gonna pretend, like a lot of our readers do, and say im ok with the shortcomings of this phone .

    tilt 2 this soon makes me think a driver is never coming and that they're simply fixing the problem with a faster cpu. which seems redundant since the cpu in our phones is more than capable.

    darn you htc.
