eWallet by Ilium Software is the ideal solution for passwords…

First things first.

I hate paying for software when there’s a freeware solution out there.  As a small business owner, I need to make every penny count so if there’s a no-cost alternative that makes sense, I’m all over it.

As the father of two young kids, I’m starting to slip mentally.  I used to always be able to remember passwords.  Even the complex ones.  Not anymore.

After checking out several freeware alternatives (including eSec) with limited success, I downloaded eWallet.  It installed cleanly and was easy to set-up.

Key to me is the ability to sync with my desktop, which eWallet does swimmingly.  I have the same passwords with me all the time.

The process to create a new entry is simple:

ewallet

Choose a folder to save the new entry…

ewallet 2

Pick a groovy icon…

ewallet 3

And fill out the details you want to save.

Voila!

At $29.95, eWallet is a solid value.

Now, where did I leave my keys….?

Tom K - the fact that there were two articles about eWallet is coincidence. I have, nor does tiltsite.com have any financial connection with Illium Software.

Dabbith - I tried KeePass and after installing, I had a significant decrease in system performance. YMMV

Have you tried KeePass? There are clients for Windows, Linux, Mac, PPC, Blackberry, Symbian, and more. There's even a U3 compliant client for your flash drive. You just need to set your Tilt to sync the database file and you're all set.
