It\'s is possible that the information within this article is now out of date or updated.

So maybe you dislike how the HTC Home plugin looks on certain ROMs, or perhaps you’d just like something else better.  Well it’s actually really easy to change.  A piece of software called HTC Home Customizer from PocketEmu Software makes it quite easy.  Best of all, it’s free!

1 Installation is pretty much the standard deal, then you launch the program and you’ll have a screen similar to the one at the left that allows you to choose a BG(background), Clock, Icons, and Weather.  There are quite a few loaded with the software to keep you satisfied for about 5 minutes but you can ALSO connect to their servers (via the downloads tab) and download even more of all of those objects.

The Previews tab also allows you to preview all the available themes before you download them so you can find the ones that you like.  You can also add/remove tabs that you don’t use/like, add custom cities to your weather screen (if yours is not on the list), and change quite a few options (including backing up and restoring your options if you flash ROMs a lot).

More after the break

You can view the screenshots on the project’s page as well as download it from there as well.

Just keep in mind that you’ll need the .Net Compact Framework 2.0 in order to run this software (most Windows Mobile 6.1 ROMs probably already have it, but correct me if I’m wrong, it may also work with .Net CF 3.5 but I can’t confirm this, I just haven’t ever had to install a different version of .Net CF to get this working on the ROMs I run).

NOTE: The Preview and Download functions use data!!!

Enjoy everyone.

  • @QC: if you're using a cooked ROM then the .Net Framework may have been baked in. Try installing .Net CF 3.5 and see if that fixes your issue.

OK the name of the interface that I want is HTC home....now if you can lend some insight to the Net framework issue.

I have not been able to upgrade my .net framework on my phone (tilt). I have installed 2.0 but it tells me to remove previous installation....I have not been able to remove previous installation yet. Please help. I also want my home screen to look like the screen shot at the top of this page....what should I d-load to do so?
