htctouchpro With all the rumors just starting up on the Tilt II, and the Branded HTC Touch Pro coming to the USA. I thought I would post about this video by Arne Hess over at the::unwired(dot)com. I love Arne’s accent during the video and he does a nice job showing you what’s on the surface of the HTC Touch Pro.

The Touch Pro does not have any built in memory, so you will have to get a Micro SD card for more storage and the Touch Pro will handle up to 32gb. I also didn’t like where the Micro SD card is located behind the battery cover, as I have enjoyed the Tilt/TyTN II SD card location on the bottom of the device. I also missed where the SIM Card location was but I can only guess that it is behind the battery cover also. This just makes it tough when flashing to pull them out as is sometimes recommended.

The 1340 (Arne says) mAh battery left me a little disappointed as well. It needs to be much more than that as this device will surely appeal to power users. My only other wish is that they would have made better use of the real estate on the front of the Touch Pro. HTC could have used a larger screen and really made the touch Pro stand out. I don’t know why HTC refuses to include larger screens on their flagship  mobile handsets. I am also just okay with the Diamond Form Factor. Black is nice, but the square design really makes it look more like a brick. I am also not wild about the F-117 Stealth look on the back. I think the “Victor” look is much better.

The only other thought I had about the HTC Touch Pro from the video is the 5 row QWERTZ? (German Design) Keyboard. I have been drooling at the thought of a 5 row keyboard and have easy access to numbers without having to hit the Function Button first. But after seeing the video, I wonder if they are too far up on the keyboard leaving them “buried” and hard to hit? C’mon Arne! Fire this baby up and let us know!

More to come!

I agree, would like to see a tilted keyboard. That's a very useful feature.

Looks like a really sweet device. I am asking myself though whether I would be truly comfortable with another slider that doesn't tilt. Hopefully they'll pop out another tilting device in the near future. It's just such a nice convenience feature.
