@psionandy: know of a free piece of software that'll clearly read me text messages? Because I get preview on my screen :P

@Ryan: Like I said, so I don't have to drag my phone out of it's cradle every 30 seconds because of a text message. Plus it looks like Bluetooth support is planned.

LOL @ psionandy.

i agree though, mymobiler does everything and then some for $20 less (read: free). The phone can handle what the phone was made to do, chirp and make calls when needed. Plus there is no need for activesync, mobiler works over wifi.

@Michael: Do you have ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center(Vista) installed on your PC? and is it the latest version? What error are you getting?

@psionandy: Yes but MyMobiler doesn't offer desktop popup notifications from the system tray of new email and text messages. That's one of the big things I like about it.

My mobiler has cab install functions.. and runs in the system tray.

And If you want to do the remote thing, then have a look at Dashwire, which will do your text mail, and photo uploads over the web... you don't even need to plug into the cradle!

@Kris: It can bring the desktop to my PC but as far as recording goes I'd need separate software.

@psionandy: MyMobiler is just a screen transfer tool that allows you to control your device from your PC. mDesktop has quite a few more features, including installation of programs via dragging and dropping, text message alerts (inc. message viewing and reply) on your desktop, it runs in your system tray (big plus for me), and picture preview before drag-and-drop transfer from phone to PC.

And this is just an early version, not to mention features in future releases.

Does it have the ability to record video of what you're doing? Similar to mymobiler? or did I miss that?

This looks great but I'm not sure it gets you as far as mymobiler which is freeware http://www.mymobiler.com/ and lets you control your phone from your PC (it feels like using PCAnywhere for your phone). This lets you send an email or SMS from your PC as well.
