A few days ago I commented about the Celio Redfly adding support for BlackBerrys. I came across that bit of information first while researching to purchase a Celio RedFly myself and then while I’ve been …

ROM with Drivers already available

It’s barely been 24 hours since the release of the Tilt drivers and already someone has a ROM with the drivers baked in.

1fc44fa1f9 To clarify, TiltSite’s opinion about using the drivers remain the same.  Don’t use the drivers if you’re not an advanced user or developer.  You should stick with what works for right now, but I felt it noteworthy that they’re already making their way into the ROMs.

Again, no using these ROMs if you’re not an advanced user or developer, I mean it.  Bad things can happen or you just won’t be happy with it.

Well I think I have already found a bug in this: I installed the drivers, and ran the hardware test, and guess what? I left it running for a minute, and when the backlit dimmed, it got verry choppy and the fps seemed to go down much lower than before. idk if this is only this tilt/rom, but it seems unlikely. Anyways yeah this is great now that we have drivers, just can't wait to try this thing out when it has 2D drivers. (I kind of feel stupid for not waiting and getting my iphone, but the larger screen and more sensitive touch controls are nice (almost got an experia too, couldn't stand lack of drivers on my tilt any longer))

I have a question for the author of this article though- If I were to install the cab file on (now my mom's) tilt, do you think they would work? I mean I know you said in the previous article something about how you shouldn't just mess around and try drivers, but if anything were to happen, couldn't I just reflash?? I'm not a developer or whatever, and I won't hold you or any of tiltsite's authors/people responsible for what happens to my tilt (including whatever your answer to this question will be), I just want to know if you think anything would go wrong with the phone in terms of hardware?? Otherwise I'm going to try this and if it doesn't work or it makes a mess of the rom I am using, I'll just hard reset or even re-flash.
