Update on Winterface and Reminder…

Well I’ve been using the Winterface for almost a week now and it’s cool, but it does icon_winter_prod have some bugs, or annoyances in it that need to be worked out. It does show promise though that further revisions could make this a very useful and cool interface for your phone.

So far I’ve come across:

1. Incoming call – no caller id

2. Incoming call says ‘incoming voicemail’

3. Can’t navigate interface correctly, no wrap around, must go through pages to get to last one instead of moving one to the left to get to last page

4. Phone lock is weird, have to push power button, I would rather just tap screen as I normally do

5. Autostarts when shut down, that’s annoying

6. Sometimes when phone is locked, I have to ’slide to unlock’ and still use the standard unlock phone buttons

7. Battery icon goes to ‘Sliding sounds’

8. Lock goes to ‘password settings’

9. Contacts not listing full names

That’s some of my observations I can recall right now, I’ll have a full critique next week in review format..

and the Reminder part of this is about the Triforce Contest, 2nd week ends tomorrow so hop on over and throw your name in the hat over HERE..

Good Luck! ;)

I agree with your preliminary comments. The software also does not "play well" with PocketInformant. If one accepts PI contacts as default contacts listing then the program goes to the PI contacts listing instead of the illustrated contacts listing including photo. I suppose that I could alter the association with contacts but I value PI as an app too much for this.

It would also be very nice to have a gadget selection to include an easy option to to the standard Today Screen set up on the device without having to close out of the application, which is not simple to do.

Thanks for introducing us to this application. It looks VERY promising with a few tweaks which hopefully will follow.
