iphonewordpressI was talking with Jason Dunn from Pocket PC Thoughts yesterday and mentioned to him that the only application for the iPhone that I really want to see is one that allows mobile blogging to wordpress. Something like Windows Live Writer. Well, I woke up this morning and James Kendrick at JKontheRun posted about the “official” iPhone Wordpress Application. Looks great, sounds perfect, but I can’t use it unfortunately.

It seems that you can only use this app with version 2.5.1 of Wordpress. Because of the complexity and custom work on Mobilitysite, I won’t be seeing 2.5.1 for a while. I am going to test it with my personal blog after upgrading it tonight though.

The App was released today and here is what they have to say about it.

Introducing the first Open Source app that lets you write posts, upload photos, and edit your WordPress blog from your iPhone or iPod Touch. With support for both WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress (2.5.1 or higher), users of all experience levels can get going in seconds. Download it now!
