Using the advanced feature of Sprite backup,I found and backed up my Explorer favorites only.Restore despite warning after hard reset or Rom flash.That soft reset needs to be fast to beat the bloat.Sofar not happy with 6.1 :-(

Ok, upgraded to WM6.1 before I found this post. Is there any way to remove the "Bloat" other than reinstalling? If I have to reinstall, how do I back up my current WM6.1 without backing up the Bloat as well.

Thanks

Just installed the WM6.1 upgrade on Saturday and the install went fine. I'm thinking of reinstalling it to get rid of all the bloat software and links because most of it is stuff I will never use.

I found what seems to be all of the install CAB's in the Windows directory...16 in all. Just copy the CAB files to your Windows PC. Then you can open the individual CAB's in WinZip and open the _setup.xml file...this file will show you what the CAB is installing.

I haven't found the Abode Reader, but I'm still looking.

Yes I have. I've done it twice now. My cousin finally attempted is ROM flash last night on his TILT and had the exact same problem I'm having. I still do want to "Beat the Bloat" however I'm not having any luck with it. What little bit of memory I'll gain by losing the bloat, isn't as great of a concern to me due to the fact I'm using an 8gig micro SD. But it would be nice not having that extra junk on it I'll most likely never use.

@George McKinnis

I'm sorry, I don't really know what the problem might be. Have you considered flashing the rom and letting it finish, the reflashing again? maybe that will help.

Kip,

Your article was an excellent post on explaining the steps in flashing the ROM as were numerous others. If you had a chance to view my questions in the forum under Support/New ROM Install (F.A.S.T. Unit 52), my comment was every time I get to the point to soft reset it always did a hard reset. Any ideas on why that is? And yes I did it exactly the way you described it.

Thanks for the post. I'm going to run the clean rom, but I want one or two of the bloat programs which are nice like Adobe Reader LE.
If anyone has an idea of how to install these individually, please let me know. As Kip said, there should be a cab somewhere on the ROM to install manually.
Thanks!
