In the spirit of Ryan Block’s contests to move his swag that has accumulated over the years over at Engadget, I decided to thin out my collection too. I cleaned my office up pretty good yesterday. I have a few items I will be dishes out over the next couple weeks as time permits. I have some cases to give away at Gotzune and the 1st item here at Mobilitysite is this Slingbox Solo.

The Slingbox SOLO allows you to watch and control your favorite TV source—including your HD content—from anywhere in the world on your laptop or cell phone. So now you can watch your DVR, digital cable, satellite receiver, or DVD player wherever you see fit. With the Slingbox SOLO, you can watch your favorite TV shows and sporting events from anywhere.

Just leave a comment in this thread telling me what you like most about Aximsite and/or Mobilitysite now or what you liked in the past. Be honest, don’t try to "win" my pick since I will choose the winner randomly. No doubt I will read them all, but when selection time comes, I will do the random thing.

Deadline: September 1, 2008
Anyone can enter, but make sure your email address is valid, this will be the only way to verify you.

Both site's have a nice glow off my monitor that works better than a nightlight for the following reasons:

    1. They are definitely brighter in my room.

    2. They scare off closed minded non-tekies.

    3. They are not as creepie in my room as a glow worm(in my bed)

Thanks and keep up the great work you know you rock!
  • No, this one is done and prize already received by winner. Sorry.

Has this contest been extended? It's still posted on the contests list. It was supposed to close on Sept 1, 2008, but I haven't heard a winner announced, and people are still entering?
  • David Gray
Boy am I behind. Not only do I feel "late to the party" finding time to read about all these contests, I realize THIS is the only way I'll find out what Slingbox is actually all about. I am ready to be educated.

I don't know much about the past, but I find it this site a great resource for information about my future purchases.
  • Catherine
I just discovered the site, so cannot speak to the past. However, I have found this site a quite usefoul source of information so far.
  • Trondis
I don't know what I would have done without Aximsite, that showed me all the fantastic possibilities of the Dell Axim. "What can you do with a Dell Axim"

I just got my tilt a couple of months ago and both tiltsite.com and the forums have been extremely valuable and I have said it time and time again if it wasnt for these two sites I would have probably gotten an iphone....and then how screwed would I have been? :)
  • badersk
These sites have always been an invaluable resource for me. Thanks for the hard work.

I just like the strong community, especially the close knit "family" that is the members from the early times.

This is by far the best place I've found for unbiased information mobile devices. I've been a great fan of Aximsite and still visit regularly for advice/help etc for my old faithful X50v.
  • jaxplanner
I like the freshness of the information...No rehashed, dated material. No same old, same old...just helpful information that is timely and concise. I do not have to muddle through the blah, blah, blah to get to the useful tidbits. Thanks, Chris for a great site. Well done!

I've followed quite a few portable devices, but once I got my Axim and joined the Aximsite community, nothing ever came close. It has been quite a ride that does not seem to slow down even with daily news about new phones, netbooks and a variety of combo devices. Mobilitysite keeps up with news, unveilings, links, and still maintains the communal spirit. I love it and enjoy it, and I respect the bright, fun people who keep it strong. Both sites and their forums are a joy. Contests and reviews are a plus. It is free and open and wonderful. Msliberty
  • I tend to help out in x51/x50 forums. I like what the senior members have to offer (The admins too). They often "hide in the shadows", when someone needs help, they offer their expertise on the subject. That's what I like about the site.

As a gadget hound, I love the site. I'm new here (referred by slingboxsharing.com) but I'm excited to find a place to review all the new phones out there. I'm still looking for my perfect option for slinging (right now I'm using a Motorola Q, but I definitely don't love it). I'm hoping within time, I will find my next sling-friendly phone right here.
  • Marck
I’m new reader to mobility site and I love it. I’m a phone fanatic and I like to stay up to date about new phone and software. If it wasn’t for mobility site I wouldn’t know about the new WM 6.1 update for my Tilt, Skyfire, BB bold, and the Touch Pro before my friends.

Love your reviews. Found this place through TiltSite. I'm a heavy RSS user so I get regular updates about your site's content. I would have to say the product reviews keep me coming back.
  • breley
I'm not sure I qualify for entry, but what the hey, 'cause we likes swag. Where else can I meet such fun people and mix mobile tech questions with philosophical discussions but in the Aximsite/Mobilitysite forums? I started out a few years back here with a lonely X51v, not I've got five mobile devices, and it's all mobilitysite's fault. Well, okay, only partially. :D

I have been a subscriber to this site via VIIGO, which is an awsome app. I check out the new posts every day. Great info!! Can't get enough.
The Sling Box is the only way to go to see full length video. I've seen a few demos of how it works, but still don't have one of my own. Every so called free video site that I've tried for my phone mostly shows video clips and rarely has full length video. If there are full videos, you have to watch them in bits and pieces which is very annoying to say the least.

My first WinMob device was the Dell Axim... what a group of people we had assembled there! My favorite part was and is the usual positivity that this community has... I love reading about someone's problem they had a month ago, and how 12 people put together a solution. Yay us!

Ever since I found Aximsite shortly after I got my x50v, I've been addicted to it. It offered me so much that I made the most out of my device which I still use today. It also provides me the opportunity to contribute to fellow fans.
  • Terrence
I've said it before. Aximsite was my gateway site to everything tech on the web. I got my Axim and was lost but then I found Aximsite and I'm in too deep now. Got the RSS on my web browser, on my phone...(the Tilt which I got cuz I saw it on MobilitySite). The sites keep me up to date with the latest and greatest and I preciate that.

I first discovered aximsite a few years ago, when i got my axim x5. I liked the helpful discussions a lot. when I recently got my Tilt, I came back to tiltsite and mobilitysite, and i love the reviews, and updates!
  • My favorite parts of Mobility Site are your loyalties to Windows Mobile and of course the amazing giveaways.
  • strikeone
I like the wide range of topics [regarding WM] that this site covers. The insight into this many devices is unparalleled.
  • I like the gadget reviews....and I like free give-aways!
  • Jim
Keeping up with everything I need to maintain phone 'dominance' is difficult. I look here, as well as a few other places to update my phone. Keep it current and leading edge.
  • Corey Clayton
Basically I needed a phone that would give me access to my email acounts while away from pc. I baught the tilt, and was absolutely mind boggled trying to figure the phone out. Well after about a week I founf tiltsite and after countless hours of reading I got my tilt working with free apps and goodies that makes it priceless in my eyes. Thanks to all bloggers and posters on the site and forum.

Since I am truly a noob, when it comes to mobility hardware/software, What I like best about aximsite/mobilitysite is everything I need answered is it one place. Also the site is always great for new products/reviews as well.

    Keep up the great work.
  • Nathan Sheaffer
Hello. I too have just recently found this site. I mean I found it a while back but only here recently started picking its brain. I have found the software reviews very useful as well as the tutorials on how to unlock and install new roms and all kinds of cool stuff. I have many of the software ecomendations installed on my Tilt now as a result.

    Keep up the good work.

    Nate
