The link to the 6.0 ROM is:
http://member.america.htc.com/download/Software/RUU_Kaiser_CINGULAR_WWE_1.62.502.0_radio_sign_22.45.88.07_1.27.14.09R2_Ship.exe

I tried using different variations of the file name based on the WM 6.1 screen shot and I have not lucked out. I think the FTP server is the best option in finding it. Does anyone know how to force an FTP server to list its contents?

I inquired today with HTC and here is what they emailed me:"We are currently updating our site in preparation for the release of Windows Mobile 6.1 for the Tilt. We expect to have this available by the end of this month for download."

Ok this is what I find so far..

This link seems to show a screen shot w/ the version of the WM6.1 Device information Screen dated 07/17/08

http://www.htc.com/us/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=67&cat=1&dl_id=68

This link seems to show the device info screenshot from the 1/17/08 WM6.0 update

http://www.htc.com/us/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=67&cat=2&dl_id=68

The only difference is cat=1 vs cat=2 .. after playing around.. it appears that neither of these links may be what we are looking for. A crude attempt at trying to figure out what the parameters on the list are led me to believe that p_id is specific to the phone (p_id=67 is ATT Tilt). dl_id appears to refer to the specific download, so this will likely be a different number (dl_id seems to always be the 70.9 mb download of the 1/17/08 update for the tilt). cat kind of puzzles me cat=0, cat=1, and cat=3 all display the info for WM6.1 cat=2 and other cat=4, cat=5 etc all point to the WM6.0 page.

So until someone finds the actual link we will have to wait. I doubt that either of the links I provided will ever lead you to the WM6.1 download we are all hoping for

I have been waiting for a while for the rom update. Just a question, "what good business advertises a product before it available to it's customers".....whether it's ATT or HTC.....some brilliant chap had to update the HTC website, If it's not available then cool, but don't post it is, And when your customers call inquiring about it HTC says ooops.......whatever.

You know the ATT Tilt is the most used/ bought phone then any other tytn II or varient...and still HTC can't get the phones update to ppl. This company just cashed in the last couple of years because of success in on the American market, and this is how they repay us? It's like ATT wants everyone to buy a iphone before they remind everyone they have a more Superior phone ATT TILT...hold back on the update as long as you can inorder to get ppl to buy a new phone..when in reality the tilt has hardware/specs phones in the future will have.

I just got off of the phone with HTC and they told me that the ROM update was posted with the wrong links, and that the links were suppose to be to the new ROM. They are suppose to be fixing the links some time this week. Seeing that you guys have the tendency to be able to get strings pulled on occasion, maybe you can get them to fix the links sooner!

Yup. They took it all back to the old way on HTC's website. I guess they got killed with the calls they were getting pointing out the difference between the website description and the version of the firmware available for download. If I was HTC, I'd do the same thing until the new version is actually available for download. This way, it at least reduces all the calls they were getting. I still think we will get the new firmware soon.

Before I do anything stupid this week... I just got my SIM unlock code from AT&T last week... Will updating the ROM re-lock it and I'll need to get a new unlock code from them?

(Well, I'm travelling less than a week later... it may be safer not to try a new ROM until I get back anyhow...)
