I did the upgrade and now I cannot charge it or connect to the pc. any ideas?

Oh by the way I also had the issue with the Sprite backup. Blank screen for awhile. I did a hard reset and it reverted back to the old settings with none of the new stuff.

I just flashed my device with the 3.57.502.2 update . It will not allow me to customize my ringtones. It keeps defaulting to (ring-WindowsMob) everytime. I called HTC/AT&T today and the woman tried to say it was a serious problem and told me to go exchange the device. I reverted back to the old ROM and did a Sprite and its fine now. She told me I could not go back to the old ROM either and it did. I will wait until they have this glitch fixed I cannot go with any of the default ringtones! If anyones knows a fix I would like some of the new features on the ROM.

I kept resetting my tilt, I don't know if that helped. Eventually a screen came up saying that it had to restore itself. I let it, and then it came back. I didn't try using the sprite backup file again. I think something with this rom update isn't recognizing the sprite backup file the correct way.

For voice command, map it to the PTT button.

Then when you hit the button, you will here a beep. Say "Call John Doe on cell" or "Call John Doe at home"

or just say "help"

How do you get voice command to work when you want to call a number

Has anyone have issues retoring a sprite backup file? I restored mine and my screen went blank. It will boot up to the part where it shows the 3G and the bars, then it goes to a blank screen.

ah the five o'clock hour is nearly upon us and i can get out of work to my computer and begin my ROM flashing.

i think i may wait a few hours though just to see what information rolls in. am i wrong in assuming that i can do the bloat-free procedure and if I am unhappy or for some reason desire the ATT branding I can then reflash without doing the soft-reset prior to customization.

does anyone know if the kaiswer tweak that mr. tate was nice enough to include above has raiisak's icon in it?

also, have we heard if the new ROM works well with the HTCClassAction drivers yet? someone mentioned that earlier. i have never downloaded that and was waiting for this. if i do in fact download it and am unhappy, again, i can just reflash the ROM again, right?

wait... spoke too soon.. it's just reaaally slow at opening... not sure if it's always been like that or not.. i normally use spb backup.

another problem....it is playing anything i say through the ear peace...very annoying.

this rom sucks.

also.. here's the link to kaiser tweak in case anyone wants it and is too lazy to google it. I forgot about that stinking "sms confirmation".. i hate that thing... and the security warning when installing programs.. ugh.

smart move proto! i forgot roms could be loaded from sd cards. nice. also confirm that settings are retained after resetting before the customization screen. maaad that i missed the comments about downloading from the europe server instead.... could have saved about 4 hours of my life.. oh well.. i'm happy now.

I copied the NBH file to a micro SD, and rebooted ... bootloader saw the image and is now reloading it off the card.

Hopefully this one ends better.

the only time i saw this was a flash gone bad on my old 8525. windows xp would not pick it up when it was in this mode. I had to use vista to re flash it and get it to work. if you do not have a vista computer try doing a hard reset, if that does not work try charging the phone. and then doing a hard reset. also you could try reflashing the phone with it in that mode. I dont know if it will pick it up but if it does you may be able to pull it back.

I have to agree with whoever said to download it from the European site... I was getting over 350 kbps, versus 20 from the US site. Phone is booting for the first time now, can't wait to try it out!

Leave it to the big companies to make the ugliest threaded SMS on record.

i just noticed a problem with this....they give you a bunch of " account locked, company policy" warnings if you have things like windows live mail installed...effectivly neutering this device....

i am having regrets on updating.

it DOES seem a LOT speedier... it used to take a few seconds longer to load the "windows" folder.... i haven't added any 3rd party software yet... but it does seem a little faster.

i installed over a cooked rom (don't even remember which one.... LOL). seems to be working fine *shrug*.

I remember that you needed to do that with the 8125 (i think). doesn't seem to be the case with the tilt.

has anyone played that guitar hero mobile game? wooooow.. ... didn't know they had that.

4.08 is the old version of the camera, but the build is newer version that was on ROM released at the beginning of this year anyway. (Build 28288)

I saw somewhere that you need to removed a cooked rom (I use Dutty 4/29) before you flash the new one. Is this true?

I downloaded the update from the Europe site; twice as fast and it seemed to be the same file (same name/version).

HTC Album is not included unfortunitely.

The camera is "Camera for PocketPC" Version 4.08 (Build 30665). The camera does appear to be faster in lower light than the previous ROM. Not perfect yet, but faster.

In general, the display seems to be faster throughout all applications.
