I have no idea what moron salesman the supposed thief had taking care of him, but I have never seen anyone at Best Buy of any other store hand something that they have to get from a locked case over to a customer. They take it up front for you and tell you to let the cashier know when you go to check out. I think the guy claiming to be a thief is full of it just because I really don't believe they would have handed over any laptop...that's the part of employee training that they beat into your head with a hammer :).

I agree with your comments about the need for training of store employees. However, I question your comments about this person likely being guilty because of his (or her) spelling. To wit, I don't believe that "thieve" is the word that you meant. Thieve is a verb meaning "to steal." You used the word (twice) as a noun. I think that the word you meant was "thief." In which case, you spelled it incorrectly (grin)! The point is, we all make make typos and misnakes (grin) in spelling. That does not automatically make us guilty of theft. Still, it is a worthy article - thanks for posting it.
