I'm not sure that it really matters, but Clarion is better known for their automotive accessories, so I look at it as the former. As for whether to choose a MID or Netbook, it depends on how and where I'd use it. If portability is more important, then a MID might make more sense. Personally, I'm looking at the Celio RedFly now that you can buy them for $200.
