I THINK IT'S DEFINITELY WORTH FLASHING THE ROM, I HAVE ONLY FLASHED MY ROM ONCE WITH DUTTY'S HYBRID APRIL 29 ROM WHICH DEFINITELY DESERVES TO BE IN YOUR TOP 5..AS LONG AS YOU FOLLOW DIRECTIONS AND READ YOU'LL BE FINE..I'M SORT OF TEMPTED TO FLASH AGAIN AND TRY ONE OF THE HYPERDRAGON ROMS BUT IT SEEMS TO HAVE A LOT OF BUGS BASED ON THE COMMENTS OVER AT XDA-DEVELOPERS. THE ONLY BUG I HAD W/ DUTTY'S APRIL 29 ROM IS WITH THE KEYBOARD AND CAMERA, BUT THERE'S A FIX FOR THOSE..IN MY OPINION, STOCK ROMS SUCK AND ARE WAY TOO SLOW..

custom Roms rock. I too was afraid to brick my tilt until I read enough info. The danger is if your tilt has a hardware problem and you cannot restore the original rom. Make a list of things you like and se if you can find the cabs on xda. then you can add them to your favorite rom. there are even programs that help you choose which cabs to install all at once

I tend to steer clear of non designed ROMS. It's not that I am "scared", it's the fact I just don't have time to experiment. I look at 3-4 phones a month and I don't really have the time with a dayjob and these sites to fix things if something goes wrong. I definately don't do any mods to phones I get on loan either.

Kris,
thanks for the reply. i agree that the warnings are very important you def dont want to brick your til/kaiser but i think people who brick their phones dont follow the directions properly and to me as long as you follow the instructions the chances of Bricking a phone are very unlikely. unfortulately the people over at XDA spend so much time writing out all these procedures and people just dont spend enough time reading before they flash. i cant stress enough to read first. thanks again great post!

Johnny B, I try to overly warn people, because I want them to have a healthy sense of caution. I do not want anyone to make a mistake, nor do I want to be blamed for them turning their Tilt into a shiny paperweight.
I have not yet flashed raiisk IBI ROMS yet, I think I will try it today, and who knows it might end up on that list very soon.

corrections from above post. i had more than a couple comments, and it should read " also most cooked roms ARE much much much faster". and last but not least i read your post again and saw that you're top 5 rom list are roms that you have tried so maybe you have not flashed raiisk IBI roms yet? if you have not i would suggest you take on for a test drive! thanks

i just have a couple of comments

1.) I have flashed my Tilt probably 25-30x and as long as i followed the instructions i have never had a problem, you just need to be carefull and read first..very important.

2.) as long as u use the recommended spl and radio u should never have problems with your camera or many bugs, you should actually have less bugs than the original htc rom. which i find to be very buggy. also most cooked roms and much much much faster.

3.) i can not beleive on your top list of ROMS Raiisk IBI v8 rom is not on that list. this is by far a top 3 ROM very stable and fast and great look!
