It wasn't funny, not even remotely. It was just strange. Gates was as wooden as ever. There was no message, no where for this to go that would make Microsoft products better. I think MS would have done better to spend the $300M to take out a few of the bugs and "undocumented features" from their entire product line, maybe starting with something to replace Activesync.
