Samsung OMNIA first impressions … better than the iPhone

SamOmm Matt Miller from ZDNet.com  posted some interesting first impressions on the Samsung OMNIA and his thoughts are that it can clearly show that Windows Mobile can beat the iPhone.  I would expect that!!  It is a great piece and well worth reading Matt’s thoughts.  It is expensive (US$675) and is only available a few select countries but it is a tempting device.  Matt ended his piece by saying:

The OMNIA is better than the iPhone in so many ways: I know some may say it isn’t fair to compare the iPhone with more powerful smartphones, but here is a random order list in which the Samsung OMNIA looks to be a more capable product that you may want to consider (even without US 3G support):

  • Ability to rotate in three directions in all applications
  • Ability to connect to A2DP headphones or a Bluetooth keyboard
  • Ability to tether the device to a PC with a wired or wireless connection
  • 5 megapixel camera that captures video and has image stabilization with flash
  • Download and store podcasts wirelessly
  • Access the file system and connect as a flash drive or via Bluetooth to a PC
  • FM radio with RDS support
  • Office Mobile support (creation and editing)
  • Cut, copy, and paste
  • Handwriting recognition
  • 3rd party navigation and turn-by-turn direction support
  • Advanced 3rd party support (SlingPlayer, photo/video editing, etc.)
  • Advanced Exchange/Outlook synchronization capability
  • Haptic feedback
  • Removable battery
  • Removable storage card

    Have you heard about Xpango, it’s a great site that give you free gifts for only registering to their offers and refferind friends, here you can get for free and a little work the Samsung omnia.

    All you have to do is

    1. Register (is free)
    2. Chose your free gift (they have the best mobiles, game consoles, HDTV, etc)
    3. According to your gift selected you have to get the credits to win it, for example an xbox 360 for 13 credits or an unblocked Iphone 3G for 32 credits.
    You can earn the credits by 3 ways

    Haiz iam a 12 yrs old boy buying either a Iphone OR Samsung Omnia Who to choose?? I phone is slim but leseerr (Things) while samsung omnia is heavy but ( LOTS of Things) So next yead when i am 13 then i buy STILL THINKING if u tink which is btter jus email me at iceking1239@hotmail.com

    And you don't call that sexy? I mean look at it so lucious and tasty with its texture so good looking, I just can't wait to have it in my hands and caress it. I mean the iphone is sexy alright but the omnia is sexy and its features add on to it's look.

    Compare it as the iphone being damm sexy but the omnia being sexy too and to add on to it she has a few tricks in pleasuring you, just like one of those girls you can't forget and are the ones you remember in those pleasuring times.

    You just don't get it. The iphone is NOT about features. It's about SEXY. The iphone is sexy (well as sexy as a gadget can be). My Palm treo 750 has heaps better features than the iphone, but it doesn't stop me wanting one. Your average non-tech joe doesn't care about all the features either BTW.

    Its about time we have a windows mobile phone with killing features and nicely fitted design... Hopefully more carriers will get this phone!
