Hopefully everyone has smoothly gotten their Zune software to update without any issues and we are all busy spending time playing with them. But are there any of you having problems with the Zune update?
There are a few update requirements that are needed for the new Zune software to work, such as:
- .NET
- Doctor Watson 2.0
- MS XML
- Windows Update Agent
- XMLLite
- Wireless LAN API
- Image Mastering API
- An unknown knowledge base download KB933720
- Windows Media Framework
What else can you do? Check after the break.
First start off by:
- Making sure you have an active Internet connection, a ‘Genuine’ valid copy of Windows and it is up-to-date via the Windows Update site.
- Restart your computer to ensure that any installations have completed. Or you may see a message like the one below:
- Disconnect your Zune device before doing anything.
- Close the Zune software if you have it open. (This is all the easy part)
- Download the Zune 3 update package [64 Bit version] from the Zune.net site. If you run into the following error:
- Download the complete Zune, (32 & 64 Bit) software which includes all the packages needed for the system to work.
- You should be able to successfully install everything and connect your Zune device to perform the handheld update via the software.
- If all else fails, check the Zune official customer forum, the knowledge base, try another computer and of course, contact support.
There are also some other tools to use:
Zune Device Diagnostic Tool
Codec Installation Package
Critical Update for Media Player
DRM Security Component Update
Zune media collection reset tool
Hope this helps, but I hope them most of us haven’t had any problems at all.
