Introducing Device Diary

closeThis post was published 1 year 22 days ago which may make its actuality or expire date not be valid anymore. This site is not responsible for any misunderstanding.

Might as well go ahead and announce it since it’s no secret now. I was close to public consumption when Jason Langridge plugged the site, so might as well.

This isn’t another Mobile Blog, it’s a multiple author blog where Microsoft Mobile Device MVPs and Mobius Members can share with everyone what they are rolling with. With most of us changing to a different phone, netbook, UMPC, or other shiny device almost monthly, Device Diary can keep those that want to know what we are using up to date.

Go ahead and take a look if you like.

It's certainly a nice looking site. That said, if I want to see what device somebody is using, why wouldn't I go to their own site's About page (or similar area)? Yes, I can find in one place what devices a very small set of influential mobile users have, but I can't imagine I'd care enough to subscribe or visit that often.

Of course, I never understood people putting their device list in forum signatures, either, as if people need to be reminded about your devices every post you make. That's why I like the "View MyPDA" feature of the forums here.

I put my list of devices on my History page where it's easy to find, but unobtrusive. But I don't expect many people to care. :)

I don't get Twitter or Jaiku, either. There's nobody I care to follow that closely. Maybe I'm just not Web 2.0 cool, though. :D
