Today seems to me that is going to be a day all relative about phones. Here is an amazing news, a Norwegian teenager has created a program to have dual-boot into Windows Mobile in his iPhone.

IMO Windows Mobile has fallen by the wayside. It’s clunky, convoluted, and a pain to use (I’ve owned several WinMo devices over the years so my opinion comes from experience).

And based on my years of experience with several devices, I disagree.

Sure, Windows Mobile's UI could be improved in places (and I've suggested many in the past), but overall I still think it does the job quite well. I don't think the entire UI needs to be redone, just tuned up. If you're somebody who likes the flash of the iPhone (and it is flashy and cool) I can see why you'd disgree, but I'm more about function than flash.

So based upon my experience and opinion, my comment is valid and far from trolling.

It came across as "troll-y" because you gave zero reasons to back that fairly inflammatory comment up. That hit-and-run style is what trolls do, but, as you replied, I'll take back the "troll" part.

However, you still didn't answer my question about how it would ruin the iPhone. Even if you think Windows Mobile is passe, what's wrong with allowing options? Does Boot Camp or other similar solutions "ruin" the Mac? I don't think so; it just allows access to other solutions that may not run natively. That strikes me as a good thing.

If the piece had been about replacing the iPhone software with WM, not dual booting, maybe I'd see your point more. However, I suspect lots of WM fans would like WM 6.1 on the iPhone hardware (especially if the accelerometer and multi-touch worked).

Wow. What a great way to completely ruin the iPhone!

Is that a troll? Assuming this hoax were true, how does it ruin the iPhone? You can still use the iPhone or you can dual-boot into Windows Mobile. That's like having the best of both worlds.

Of course, the point is really moot because it's a hoax.

Also, if this were a real trade show taking place at the end of September 2008, you'd think they'd have registered the domain before August 14, wouldn't you?

This has been debunked as a hoax. If you look at the MyPhone 2008 site, there are a few unrealistic applications (a metal detector, a photographic calorie analyzer, etc.).

It appears to be a viral site started by Sonic Emotion, which has two videos of their products there. If you look at the Imprint link, it says:

I read that too but if this is a hoax it's the best I have seen in the last 10 years.

I read at crunch gear that this may be a hoax. That sucks if it is... as I would love for something like this to exist. Anyone hear any more about this? Whether its real or not?
