epix If you are lusting for a new device and you are an AT&T user then check out the new slim touchscreen Samsung Epix with a full QWERTY keyboard!

The Samsung Epix features Windows Mobile Professional 6.1 and for those of you that travel a lot, it has global coverage and blazing fast 3G capabilities. It has decent memory capacity (

Internal Memory Storage – 256MB ROM / 150MB RAM and  Expandable Memory Storage of 32 GB) , Stereo Bluetooth as well as Wi-Fi.

  • Both devices aren't anything new. The Fuze is based on the Touch Pro and the Epix is based off the Samsung i780.

Neither device has been out for very long. I think both devices have been rehashed for their AT&T release with updated drivers and sport Windows Mobile 6.1

I have the Epix, great little phone so far.

The TouchPro would be sweet, but I don't think I could deal with such a thick phone... plus being a slider... driving and doing Google Map searches would be troublesome. I guess one would really have to get their hands on it.

If your coming from a Tilt or something, the Touch Pro is an instant win because its more powerful and slightly smaller.

But the Epix has the fastest processor out of the bunch and since it isn't pushing as many pixels... it is a fast little phone.

Software aside, the Epix wins for me. I keep trying to talk myself into the Touch Pro... but even little details like the beveled backing create problems with the phone staying in one place (car dash or bed frame).
  • I am all over the Epix... I just need to pay my bill, and then I can upgrade one of the devices on my account! Looking forward to getting it in house!
  • the epix is looking like a cool option, but i'm holding back until nov 4, which is when the 'fuze' is reputed to be released. but the fuze is looking mighty thick!

question: does anyone know if the epix will be available with a matte black or rubberized look? the current glossy plastic implementation is a fingerprint magnet.

since the iphone came out with att, doesn't it feel like att has a rather stale winmo line up? the epix is over a year old, the fuze is much newer, but still...

i wonder how many people will migrate to verizon when the onmia comes out? for the benefit of winmo in the market, let's hope it's a sizable number.
