No, we have nothing to share yet but Dieter does. Yep, Dieter over at WM Experts has gotten his hands on the new  AT&T Fuze. It seems he is just now getting the phone and  his initial impression is: Impressed.

Head over to WM Experts for his pretty photos and more…

    Oooops, my bad.

    Enjoy the new jeejaw.

Lest there be any confusion, I'm not the source of that video, just someone who has been following the progress of this device since HTC introduced it several months ago, so my comments were based on information I've gathered over that time. I don't have a Fuze yet (but hope that will change on Tuesday!).

    Thanks muchly Mr. Miller.

$500.00 Ouch. Maybe I can get the Obamunistas to subsidize one.

I would not be at all surprised if there were no software upgrade for the radio to connect to WiFi-N it has been years now and the IEEE has dragged ratification out like a Hans Blik UN operation. I have a dim not fully formed thought that WiFi-N will probably be vapor hardware in lieu of Wi-Max. That range thing does have some serious drawbacks. I connect at Home and Office, so 99% of my mobilphone computing is through WiFi. I am loath to officiate ATT very special bargain data rates on top of all other fees for a once in a while phone call and the assurance that if a tire goes to rubber heaven I can ring AAA without walking 5 miles to the next emergency phone. I have ATT DSL at home.

3 megapixil camera, and 24 FPS capture. I will have to look up official spec on that array. To be honest and to my mild embarrassment I take more video than phone calls.

Hmmm, interesting they eliminated the headphone jack. I guess the earlier equipment did not have either a mini adaptor or eeentsy teeeentsy headphones included and ATT did not sell many as aftermarket accessories? Personally I have been using a really ancient Leftover Motorola 650 silver egg headset (Bluetooth) while out and about. It would be surprising but not totally out of context to use the USB jack for USB headset. Hmmm curiosity is aroused about drivers for USB headset.

Thank you very much for the excellent first look video and the surprise snappy comeback on the query comment. You have whetted my interest. I will have to look up the white paper stuff and satiate the geek hard data curiosities. I look forward to your pre-mentioned follow up video on this product.

As previously mentioned I mostly use an 8125 I acquired from Ebay for $25.00 as DOA, it had a hairball on the battery terminal and actually worked fine. The camera has a semi handy button on the side. But takes forever to open and initialize to the point of operational status.

Please do consider including a minute within to examine the video capture options. Format for save, Length of clip allowable, quality ranges (HxW,FPS / HxW,FPS) options, Critique of camera ware.

    > How much?

    $500 with no contract, $300 with 2-year contract after a $50 MIR (i.e., $350 out-of-pocket).

    > availability

At least a couple of units were sold (in Indiana and Florida) last night (Friday). Most stores don't have stock yet. The official release date is Tuesday, 11/11, so the phone should available within a few days most everywhere.

    > wifi

802.11b/g currently. I doubt it's upgradeable, and I can't speak to how well it works.

    > GPS

Yes, with aGPS when within the coverage area. The included software is AT&T Navigator, which is $10/month by subscription or $4/day if you only use it occasionally. It also works with third-party GPS software like TomTom or OCN.

    > Video capture

Yes, although it's a bit crippled compared to the Touch Pro in other countries (due to the Broadcom/Qualcomm patent dispute, as I understand it). I think the maximum specs are something like 24fps QVGA.

My compliments, a nice video very clear, the audio crisp, the device easy to see.

How much?, availability? Wifi (802.11g upgradeable to N? and is the connect ware functional or even nice? GPS? Any functional use software included with GPS? Video capture? What if "The Grays" land on my lawn jump out and do a quick rendition of "Putting on the Ritz"? Will it catch something in a worth keeping way?

I use an 8125, the wifi works but the connect ware seriously stinks. I have a bluetooth dongle for GPS and it is inconvenient to be extremely nice about it. It is fairly easy to find location via either Windoze live or Google map. But, pocket GPS you are here now, turn left there immediately is not something I have been able to rig up. The 8125 can capture video but it is so very painfull.

The video defiantly make the choice between the HTC Advantage x7510 and the Touch HD much more difficult
