It\'s is possible that the information within this article is now out of date or updated.

mj If so, did you have an issue?  If not, be aware that there might be an issue where it could delete your email Accounts as it did with Mike Temporale over at Mobile Jaw.  The patch was released to fix an issue with sending email on your Windows Mobile 6.1 device but Mike has 3 issues that you might want to read about before you install the patch.

#1 The patch will restart your device without warning.

#2 The device restarts in Flight Mode.

#3 And biggest issue – All of your IMAP or POP accounts could be deleted or inaccessible.

If you are considering installing this patch, check out Mike’s article first before you install.  If you have installed, did you have any issues?  It so, maybe you can take a moment to add a comment to tell us your experience so others can benefit for it.

Installed the patch on a Q9 without issue. It shut the phone off but caused no other problems.
  • There was a reply from the Outlook Mobile team:

we’re aware that this is happening and so far are only able to reproduce it on the Blackjack II as you mentioned here.

The problem we are seeing is not that the accounts are being deleted, but we’re unable to load them. If you uninstall the patch you’ll see that the accounts will load again.

We’re still investigating the issue and are trying to work towards a new version of the patch.

We’ll update our team blog as we learn more.

Special thanks to Johan for passing on that info!
  • I installed this on my SCH-i760 and didn't notice any issues, except that the device shut off instead of restarting.
