I've tried Skyfire and there are a couple of things you should be aware of.

First, if you're using a Redfly, Skyfire doesn't seem to work (maybe there's a video driver conflict because both Skyfire and Redfly display an on-screen cursor). Too bad, because that might be the best of both worlds.

Second, read Skyfire's terms and conditions carefully. Because this is a proxy browser, they can monitor a lot of your browsing history.

Even given its limitations - yes, you are proxying through their servers - it is still miles better than IE, and, if you have a non-touchscreen smartphone, really better than Opera Mobile, too (I have not tried the beta version of the new OM since it does not run on WM smartphones yet.)

I still go back and forth on which I like better - Skyfire or Opera Mini.

does it work with a standalone pda yet? what about Vga? doesn't it go through their servers So its not really browsing like the Iphone or Opera. Considering the last fact, if their server goes down, so does your Browsing. am I wrong?

As part of the beta program... I can concur that it's a killer mobile browser! Flash support is great.
