What about the new N97? Seems that even though it doesn't have U.S. carrier support, it's quite a nice phone. Very similar to the Sony Ericsson XPeria. Any thoughts on this?

Having just purchased an AT&T Fuze (HTC Touch Pro) obviously do not find the results of the poll surprising: think it is a wonderful blend of phone & PDA functionality. But would still think that Intended Usage has to be a big factor in preference.

For example: More MEDIA oriented users would probably prefer the iPhone for screen & Apple (iTunes) connection. (Fuze has a beautiful screen, but iPhone's is larger....)

& so on & so forth for each distinct User Group: Locked into Blackberry? Hate WM? Dislike bulk?...

Still, a fun exercise - and one guaranteed to show different results as newer devices enter the market!

Probably... I see people are still voting...

I wonder what will happen if some iPhone related blog will suddenly publish a link to the poll.

Or maybe a Palm related blog... oh, what are the chances of such existence...

@Theo

A self selecting group and small sample size suggests the validity of these results could be disputed…

Even without those factors, the HTC Touch Pro got just over 1/3 of the votes. So 66% of people dispute the "winner". Maybe "undisputed" means something different in French.... ;)

@Gil:

Why didn't the T-Mobile G1 make your summary list? It has as many votes as the Omnia and more than the Treo Pro. Did it get additional votes after you captured the results?

i like the idea of the poll. i suggest running this every six months. because once the omnia and the other new devices have actually been sold in the usa, we might see some different reszults.
