It is insane to say that APPLE should respond to these unsubstantiated rumors. Just because people keep talking about this (continually), doesn't make them true. Apple could create a whole company that could be devoted to squashing these rumors, but to what avail. It would still be just a rumor. The fact that people in the Stock Exchange have given these rumors leverage against Apple is bad. THAT is my two cents. This is way past ridiculous. Give it a LONG break. I know that I would be. And there is no good reason that affects the stock price. The stock price in the long term will reflect the company's results, and short-term swings due to rumors (both up and down) will just disappear over time. If they respond this time, then they have to the next time a rumor comes out, related or not, or people will assume since they don't deny it, it must be true. It gets messy quick if you have to start responding to rumors, some of which may be true, but should not be public.
