I'm not sure how smart a business move this is. Did Apple buy Frog Design (or any other design company)? People laud Apple's designs, and if Apple doesn't need to buy a design firm, why does HTC?

Also, it moves HTC outside of their core competencies. Do they really know how to manage a design firm that may be working with other clients, too?

I'm not saying that it's a bad move; I just don't know that I'd call it a good one just yet.

Remember when HTC bought software developer IA Style? I don't recall seeing much from HTC after that other than bundling the IA Style applications. I wonder if that was a bust or not (maybe the IA Style people helped develop the TouchFlo shell).

Steve

I'm not saying that it's a bad move; I just don't know that I'd call it a good one just yet.
