Is there an iPhone Nano in store?

Recent rumblings an rumors say yes, but nothing concrete has been leaked. There is speculation that we will see an iPhone Nano announced at MacWorld next month. There was a leaked case mock up that made it’s rounds earlier this month and now there is this concept photo I found over at Crunchgear

What do you think? Does a smaller iPhone appeal to your desires? Right now, I am happy with my Fuze, but I can’t say that a “mini” iPhone wouldn’t quench my thirst. We shall see…

    this is a stupid idea. what would be the point of making an iphone smaller. it seems like apple is now more interested in making “the worlds thinnest” or “the worlds smallest” whatever now and less worried about making the products that are out now better

    Addressing new market segments is a legitimate business goal. Maybe some people want a smaller phone and Apple is addressing that.

    The quest for smaller devices isn't new, in general or with Apple. Look at the iPod Mini, Nano and Shuffle; the Mac Mini; the MacBook Air and so on.

    An iPhone Nano may not be what you want, or even very exciting, but maybe it's exactly what some customers do want.

    I'm sure it would sell, but to me one of the biggest things the iPhone has going for it is the big 3.5" screen....going smaller (even with the same res) would make a less appealing iPhone.

    I don't try to guess at all anymore about what Apple is doing. The rumor sites seem to bat below .500, though. I'd rather that they just didn't bother.
