Well, I couldn’t help but post about this!  The gurus at xda developers have figured out how to get Android running on the HTC Touch.

Work has actually been going on for a while now, but this is the best we’ve seen so far –it’s all there, including a custom soft keyboard, and it looks like it runs pretty well, although we’re told there are some issues with scaling the UI to QVGA and that GPS, Bluetooth and USB aren’t operable yet. The hack is actually available, and you don’t have to be too daring to try it out — all it takes is a restart to go back to WinMo. Who’s taking the plunge?

Here is the vid of it in action;

I’m crying right now because I don’t have an HTC Touch.  This looks like it would be fun to play with!  It isn’t at all meant to be a replacement to WinMo, just something to test out. :)

    This is actually for HTC Vogue ...I have the older version of HTC touch... i.e. the one with OMAP 850 - 201MHz, the android is available for vogue/CDMA version (which had 400MHz qualcomm processor).

    Is there a working version for HTC touch....(mine is MDA touch - elf0300)

    Thanks,

    Cheers,
    Richard.
