What is the Dell Adamo? A MacBook Air Competitor?

bits_adamo.190 Apparently, it’s something. A NY Times post pointed to some info about the Dell Adamo that Uptownlife.net had posted but later removed. They had some marketing materials for the “Dell Adamo”.

A luxury goods publication appears to have some early marketing collateral from Dell for Adamo. “Rumor has it that Dell is coming out with a computer called Adamo that will rival the MacBook Air,” Uptownlife.net writes.

But most telling of all might have been the reaction of Michael Tatelman, Dell’s vice president in charge of consumer sales and marketing, to my question about whether or not Dell had an Air-like product in store. Mr. Tatelman’s mouth gaped open and his eyes darted away from my face.

It’s a silly sounding name, but if the speculations are in fact true, I will be happy. I love Dell Products, and I would love to have something lighter, but I damn sure won’t buy a MacBook.

I really don't think that any Windows machines will truly compete with the Air. Not that the Air is the best thing since sliced bread; but people will either buy a Mac or they will not, and I cannot believe that there are many people who would buy a MacBook Air who might be tempted by a premium, ultra-light Windows machine instead.
  • I hear ya Chris! I have been using Windows computers for so long it just would not make sense to switch at this point, so an Air-like notebook would be welcome.

I would actually be quite happy with a Dell Mini or Acer Aspire, tbh. But I know something like this adamo is bound to be more powerful and sleek.

Got a netbook on my wish list! Santa...you there...?
