Thanks for sharing the link to this great round-up. I started out, probably like many others, using Twitterific and it was a great basic Twitter app for my iPhone. Then, I moved on to Twittelator. Now, my main stay is Tweetie because it includes all the features I want and more. After reading Darren's comment above I think I'll have to also check out Twitterfon.

Despite the name, Twittelator (free version) does a reasonable job. I like its grouping list. Its one flaw is the Direct Messaging reply... it is confusing and can end up as a public tweet.

Chris, you most definitely need to try Twitterfon. I started off using Twitteriffic but after using Twitterfon for a bit I made the switch. You can easily view profiles, do replies, DMs and retweets but the best feature is that you can open conversation that shows the timeline of a full tweet conversation. Very slick...and free!

One pet peeve I had with Twitteriffic was that when you open if you go right to the top of the list of tweets and it was not a simple thing to see where the new messages started in the list. With Twitterfon they are changed to a different colour and you start at the bottom of the unread messages automatically.
