Nokia has always been a leader in the mobile space creating mobile innovation to make your life a little easier.  This very short video describes research using WiFi for indoor positioning from Nokia’s Research labs in Helsinki.

How do they do it?  Using a building’s Wi-Fi network to triangulate your position then using specialized tags on what you want tracked it can track position as close as a meter.  Pretty neat stuff!

Wasn't this what Apple was doing when the iPhone didn't have GPS and only had GPS, I remember one of their keynotes talking about stuff like this? I can't remember what company they said they partnered with to do it, but this really does sound very similar...to me at least.
