WLAN I am enjoying my Touch Pro and each day I find more and more about what I can and cannot do with it.  One thing I have found is that WiFi works really well … it has been simple and seamless but there is a major drawback and that is how fast it sucks power from the battery.

So to preserve battery power, when I am  done with WiFi, I like to turn it off and if I need it later, I just re-enable it.  So that sounds simple and it is but I have to go through several steps to turn it off and then repeat those steps to turn it back on later.  I just wanted to be able to turn it on with a quick click … period!

Ahh, but there is a solution and it is very cool and works extremely well.  It is a really neat utility that will place a shortcut to the Start Menu for enabling/disabling your WiFi quickly.

Description:

  • Makes a new shortcut under programs, WLAN activates WLAN On and OFF, see image under.
  • Make a short cut to start menu by: Start->Settings->Menus and scroll down for WLAN button.

This is a program that is definitely worth adding to your arsenal of utilities and you can get it here at xda-developers.  Enjoy!
