So, you want to install Linux on your new Netbook but just cant find a perfect distro? Don’t have the time, patience or know-how to go digging through repositories for just the software you want after installation? Not even sure what software is available?

Well, a solution for your distro needs is available at Custom NimbleX 2. This website allows you to create your own KDE Linux install disk image by “rolling your own” distro, including specifically the applications and settings you wish. Not a fan of OpenOffice and prefer KOffice? Then unselect OpenOffice and select KOffice to have the software built right into the distro. Opera instead of Firefox? Want to install Wine right off the bat, or select a personal Wallpaper to be installed by default? All of these things and more can be set up by using Custom NimbleX 2’s simple to use interface. In addition, each potential application is clearly described, so you are able to find just the applications you wish based on function and features with no guesswork.

Now you can be sure you have just the software you want installed on your Linux Netbook or Notebook, no more and no less. It is also a great way for companies or workgroups to create a custom Linux installation to be installed on multiple machines, featuring their own wallpaper and only the software they need.

So if you are looking for a good Linux distro and are not sure which one will best suit your needs….make one just for you using Custom NimbleX 2.

Its great for someone who wants to make use of age old software packages without the bug fixes and features that their new and updated versions bring.
