iPhone Firmware 3.0 to bring… Speed Improvements?

image So, with all that fancy jazzy features that Apple has just been stuffing into the iPhone, it’s nice to see that Apple is working on improving  an integral part of the iPhone – web browsing.

Although not officially announced by Apple, Ars over there did some testing, and it shows the iPhone 3.0 MobileSafari browser to render Javascript three times faster.

What does this mean? Well, you won’t get much of a boost on those mobile version pages, but you will get a boost on desktop-formatted pages, and most of all, those snazzy Web 2.0 apps. Only time will tell just how much of an impact this will have though – iPhone currently generates a huge and by far the largest portion of all smartphones – can it widen it’s lead with this?
