Zer01 Sets off to be a little different…

It\'s is possible that the information within this article is now out of date or updated.

This is a carrier than sells HTC devices, offers unlimited data, unlimited calling, and no contracts. Sounds a little too good to be true doesn’t it? Well, time will tell. This company is what the mobility world calls a MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) and that means they will basically use the AT&T network and operate as a reseller. It’s a little more in depth than that, but you get the picture.

Engadget doesn’t seem too enthusiastic about this offering… Sounds like the WInMo thing has them turned off a tad…

What’s the catch? The company will rely on a VOIP application for routing of all calls, and right now that app only works on Windows Mobile. That’ll be a roadblock for many, and given AT&T’s somewhat limited (and generally flaky) 3G data coverage we’re a little concerned about call quality, but just the same can’t wait to see how this one turns out.

Learn more about Zer01 here. Did I mention that the are selling HTC phones?

Update your story!!! There is about 50 other stories showing that Zer01 is not re selling any service from any carrier. They are not an MVNO of any carrier. Also, it works on GPRS and EDGE. Please get your facts straight
