A few days ago I commented about the Celio Redfly adding support for BlackBerrys. I came across that bit of information first while researching to purchase a Celio RedFly myself and then while I’ve been …

Then you need to read an article from another friend of mine, Jason Dunn. He has posted a good article on Microsoft’s site about Twitter on Windows Mobile. I have a weird Twitter relationship personally. I hated it, then loved it, then hated it again, and now I am just now giving it another whirl. You can catch Mobilitysite updates at Twitter.com/Mobilitysite. You can catch most of the Mobilitysite staff on Twitter too, follow me then look at my followed to see their links.

So how do you tap into Twitter using your Windows Mobile smartphone? There are a few ways. First, you’ll need a Twitter account. Once you have registered one and have selected a few people or organizations to follow, you can open up Internet Explorer Mobile and browse to http://m.twitter.com—this is the mobile Twitter site. After logging in, you’ll see a list of recent Twitter activity. You can read updates or post your own updates (called “tweets”) from this simple and fast interface. And, if you really like using Twitter, you can set it as your home page so it loads whenever you start the browser. In Internet Explorer Mobile, just click Menu > Tools Options > Use Current.

He goes on to talk about PockeTwit, but doesn’t go deep into other applications that are out there. There are dozens to choose from. Jack posted about PockeTwit not too long ago too.

What applications do you use with your WinMo device? Make sure to head over and read Jason’s story at Microsoft’s Website.

  • I use TinyTwitter. I like the interface. Only thing with Twitter on your mobile is when you follow a lot of people it's hard to get a handle on the conversation (at least for me anyway).

PockeTwit is really a great Twitter app - better than most desktop apps that I've tried, better surely than just accessing via the mobile website.
