It\'s is possible that the information within this article is now out of date or updated.

Following up on the great video that Jack Cook provided earlier today, here are some Exclusive detailed screen-shots of the new v6.0 of GPS Tuner.

This GPS Land Navigation application looks totally slick with it’s sweet User Interface, which looks like it was totally redesigned since I saw it back in January of this year at CES2009.  I don’t know about you, but I’m drooling over getting a copy of this program for a future Product Review.

I’m going to see if the folks at GPS Tuner would like to do a contest through MobilitySite to give away a new license code for the new version of the program.    Would anyone be interested in such a contest?

    @Elrendhel: Not a problem. Just let me know! BTW, any idea about upgrade pricing?

    @Pony99CA: Hey I'm in QA too...small world. :)
  • @breley:

    I catch typos like that all the time. It's probably one reason I'm doing QA now. :D

    I'm staff, too, so if we're disqualified, it doesn't appear anybody else would win.

    @Bob: I expect this version to a lot more smooth since the UI has been entirely redesigned in a lower-level language (C++ I believe). Previous versions were coded in a higher-level language using .NET code, so it was a lot more bulky and unrefined.

    However, the new version will be dealing with true 3D map data, so it is entirely possible that the third dimension of data could add a lot of extra computational overhead to the new program, but I can't say for sure.

    Here's hoping!

    @breley: Well, I expect that you'll also be running the contest as well. heh heh...
  • @Pony99CA: Well done! You should get special points for that observation!

    I'd be interested in a contest. Okay, I'm staff so I'd likely be disqualified but I'd love to try the new version on my Fuze when v6 is released!

    I wonder how the perfomance is? Choppy, fluid or like previous versions.
  • Sure, I'd like a contest like that. I hope they fix the spelling of "Length" on that Compass screen, though. ;)
