I got a chance to play around with a few of HTC’s hot new phones tonight. Of the 3, the HTC Touch Pro 2 was the hottest. I totally want one of these now. The look and feel make me wanna toss my Fuze in a river now.

Chris, what are your thoughts on the lack of a D pad?

There are definitely times when I prefer to navigate with the Dpad vs touching the screen. I think the loss of the dpad/capacitive touch area on the Diamond2 and TP2 is a big loss.

    What do you think?

I hope the rumor is true and this device makes it to T-Mobile, I’m due for an full upgrade discount in July. My Wizard is looking rough. I also thought I read that the Touch Pro2 will be getting the 6.5 upgrade when it’s released :)

ps… since the TP2 photos first leaked I started thinking the TP/Fuze was NEVER the Kaiser2/TILT2. The designs were radically different where as all the previous Tytn models shared a similar design lines

This phone however looks like it was always the real TILT2/Kaiser2/TytnII

What are your thoughts on how it compares to the Touch HD? Are they both on the same level, with one being more of a business phone and the other more of a media phone? (im close to buying a TouchHD, but im looking around to make sure there isn’t anything better.

  • Badersk

This device is beautiful. I hope it comes to at&t. next year. I so want it. Thaks for sharing

I’ll have to hold it in my hand to make a final verdict – it certainly is a good bit larger than the Touch Pro/Fuze, but man, that screen size looks sweet!

  • heybhouse

i saw a sign in front of best buy saying they had or (or maybe coming soon) but i didn’t look very carefully since i have the hd. too bad the screen doesn’t extend further down.

Hey Chris, if you can toss your fuzz my way I’d appreciate it greatly. :)

This phone is confirmed via FCC docs for tmobile, rebranded as the TMobile Wing 2. No release date or pricing information.

The phone is also known as the HTC Rhodium (the current crop being named after metals, Tungsten, etc). It may be coming to Verizon, theres rumor but nothing solid.

ATT just grabbed the HTC Touch Pro, aka the ATT Fuze, so it’s doubtful they will grab another HTC phone that quickly. They might grab the HTC Snap, but dunno.

Damn, Neil beat me to it. (However, technically, he asked for “fuzz”, not the Fuze, so Neil can have Chris’ beard shavings and I’ll get the Fuze. Cool!)

    Lack of D pad

for me.. it signals the hope that wimo 6.5 is going to launch.. really soon. supposedly it’s a more finger friendly version of windows mobile (and is LOOOOONG over due). the iphone doesn’t have one either.. nor does the pre. both OS’s are super finger friendly.. both devices are highly anticipated with each release… see the pattern? Windows needs to ditch the stylus/dpad nav function and move forward to what’s becoming what the masses are supporting if it wants to stay in the game. i’ve already ditched them for the iphone… (too late to the game and i’m unimpressed with wimo 6.5 screenies).

  • Neil

    Lol, damn you Pony99CA!!! :P

I want one sooooo bad that I can taste it. Is the final release date going to be July 22nd, or are they still not sure?
