  • The big question is what OS this Sidekick runs. Microsoft bought Danger, maker of the Sidekick/Hiptop, so could it be running Windows Mobile? If so, wouldn't Microsoft be competing with its partners?

One way around that might be to have it run Windows CE (without the Windows Mobile extensions). That would prevent it from technically competing with the Windows Mobile partners.

Or is the new Sidekick running an updated version of the original Sidekick software (something Java-based, I think)? Wouldn't that be a black eye for Windows Mobile?
