It would alienate their existing partners. (The possible exception might be the Danger part of Microsoft releasing a new Sidekick for T-Mobile that doesn't run Windows Mobile.)<br><br>Maybe Microsoft was showing a reference design to Verizon to build some excitement there, hoping Verizon might ask OEMs to produce phones like the reference design.
