OQO is having problems

This is an unconfirmed rumor but if it’s real I would say that it’s a sad news. And I say this because I was lucky enough to have one of these devices in my hand (see pictures) and their quality is really good thou the price probably is what is killing them in this economic crisis. According to rumor published today in Engadget, OQO is having some financial problems:

the company’s in dire financial straits and is looking to sell, and that the Model 2+ may be the last OQO device made, if it ever gets released. More worrisome, European retailer eXpansys is reportedly canceling orders for the MID and removing all the company’s products from the site, due to what it’s telling customers is "uncertainties to stock availability."

No big surprise nor loss to me. I never liked them since they did not have a keyboard. What is the point in a computer with laptop power but limited to a thumb keyboard? it is basically an expensive toy for geeks.

It is official I've read articles in the Wallstreet Journal and other sites that they are in deed near bankruptcy. Not much of surprize as I never found it useful since you are forced to hunt and peck with your index fingers or thumbs. They should have made it a longer clamshell so it would be more like a real pocket notebook.
