    Hey Walter,

While they’re not going to hand you $1500, they do have a new part of their site that help you choose what kind of PC to buy. It’s actually pretty cool because they have the PCs separated based on computing styles (designer, gamer, casual user, socialite, etc.).

    Check it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/choosepc/

The two ads I've see are both with professional actors playing the part of the buyers. Too bad MS couldn't find real buyers...
  • Oh, and to give credit to the oppositiion, I do like the Mac vs. PC ads (even if they aren't accurate sometimes, they are funny) and I love the iPhone app store ads.

I hope Microsoft will do something similar for Windows Mobile Marketplace. Maybe pose a question or situation and say "Windows Mobile can do it" and show the app that helps.

  • I like these ads much more than the weird Seinfeld ads or the generic "I'm a PC" ads showing a bunch of people.

The Windows Photo Gallery (or whatever) ads are also pretty good, but they need to branch out beyond photos. I've seen at least three of these ads and while I think they do show how easy to use the product is, it leaves me with a question -- doesn't Microsoft have any other products that are easy to use?

Why couldn't Microsoft do this for me., I could use an under $1,500 laptop!
